Angry CMs & Former CMs: What's WRONG with working at Disneyland?

(Remember to express what you LOVE about working at the Disneyland Resort on another, nicer poll created minutes ago.)

What do or did you dislike about working at Disneyland?

The hour and a half commute I had to get to work.

I second the commute, which sometimes took up to three hours.

    Also, the Cast Shuttle. Tragic.

Some of the guests, of course, behaved way too entitled for their own good.

Besides that, I think its a great job.

Sodexo. Food at the various cast diners was outstanding and priced reasonably before Sodexo came to Anaheim. Now you can't get a decent meal on your lunch. Utter trash.

I've only ever worked in Paris but I can imagine some similarities.

The guests who think they are God's gift to Earth.

Co-workers and especially managers who are lazy and don't have a clue or care about what they or others are doing.

ORWEN: The worst thing for me was having to get out of bed in the morning. Then having to miss out on being able to watch all my soap opera's was pretty depressing, too! (I never did find out who survived the tornado on All My Children.) Not always being allowed to sleep on the job was annoying but I still managed to get in a few cat naps when nobody was looking. I never could understand why any of us have to work to begin with. Oh why, oh why couldn't I have been independently wealthy?!?!!

I know why someone had to quit working at Disneyland. She was asked to be the maid of honor at her best friends wedding. but the wedding took place in Hawaii and she needed to take a week off. Despite asking for the time off months in advance, she was told no. So she had to choose between her work and her friends wishes.

The coworkers who trash talk the job and guests. I know that's somewhat normal for jobs, but I feel like if you don't enjoy being around people and well, just BEING happy, you shouldn't work for Disney. That's just my opinion though.

It takes me awhile to get to work but it's so worth it. I get to work at the happiest place on earth.

To be completely honest, I didn't like my management team. I enjoyed what I actually did on the job, but I couldn't stand management.

I can't see myself ever working for the company again. I work for Universal now, and I'm much happier there. I'd love to stay with them for the rest of my career years.

To preface this, I have to say 99% of my daily interactions when I worked at DL were wonderful. I met truly amazing, beautiful souls during that job (CMs and guests alike). It gave me so, so much joy honestly. But my God, I also saw some of the worst dregs of humanity in some guests. Those incidents stick out sometimes because they were the rarity, but I saw a few things I didn't even think people were capable of.
