Flo's V8 Cafe - did I just go there on a bad day?

Lots of people here seem to love Flo's.
We went once for breakfast and it was ok.
A while later we went for dinner and it was terrible!
The meat was edible, but had a kind of weird taste and texture.
The frozen vegetables were so undercooked as to be inedible, not frozen or cold any more, but definitely undercooked.
After that we decided to cross Flo's off our list of possible eating places at the parks.

I know we have many varied tastes and preferences here, as people do, but reading about how so many people here love Flo's, I'm beginning to wonder if it's more than just that, and maybe we just went there on a bad day.
What are Mc people's experiences at Flo's?
Do you love it? Hate it? Indifferent?
What are your favorite meals, and why?
Do you think they are well prepared?
How do they compare with meals elsewhere in the parks?

I've dined there three times or so - once for breakfast (the chicken tamale, very good in terms of theme park food, flavorful, and different than any other DL resort location) and twice for dinner (the roast pork with barbecue sauce and pasta salad). Pork was a bit dry but sauce helped, the pasta salad pretty good, meat texture was not 'off' as you describe. The dessert (chocolate pie) was nothing to write home about, not much flavor.

No complaints but the food was not the best in the parks by far - best thing about the place for me is the view of the mountains and Racers if you sit out back or in the wing facing them with the big windows. I'd go back likely to get the souvenir milkshake glass which have not yet, or to bring food from elsewhere (Cozy Cones) to the outdoor seating just for the view.

Yes, we sat with a view of Racers and the mountains at breakfast. It was Christmastime and the trees were up, too, so the view was very nice. I don't even remember now what we had for breakfast, but recall it was ok.

I've had breakfast & dinner there and it was very good. Love that Co-Cola BBQ sauce!

The food I had was 'meh, but I'm vegetarian and it's clearly not catering to me ('tater bake I am looking at you). My main disappointment in Flo's is that they advertise milkshakes but literally every time I've gone, usually specifically because I wanted a shake I was told the machine was "down". These were all totally random dates, several months apart. So I stopped bothering to go there. I wasted too much time waiting in line for something they couldn't sell me.

I don't mind the food, but we love Boudin's sourdough bread bowls so we bring them on a short hike to the south side of Flo's to watch the RSRs while we eat. I think this is easily one of the most scenic spots at the Disneyland Resort.

I prefer breakfast there. The french toast has been great both times I've had it. Dinner on the other hand is a gamble for me; half the time, the meat is on the dry side.

I prefer breakfast there. Love the "french toast".

Place is lousy. I had breakfast stars that were so cold. Eggs were made of powder.

If you took that food and served it in an outside restaurant, you'd never come back. Just because it is Disney, it doesn't mean it is automatically good.

This is why I go to El Pollo Loco and bring it into the parks.

I enjoy black beans and rice and a 3-piece meal. It is delicious with the tortillas!

Im not a fan of the actual food, but I think they have great sweets! The brioche french toast was really good, but I dont think they have it anymore. I like to sit way in the back at night, with the view of Racers, and have chocolate pie. So I guess if I had to choose a meal at Flos, it would be dessert.

What's a breakfast star? And where is there an El Pollo Loco nearby? Seems a long way just to haul some food.

We had it 2 weeks ago. Did they take it out since then?
