My boyfriend and I talk about this all the time. We can't wait to have a house with a lot of property so we can build our own version of Disneyland. It would be complete with a train, pirates themed area, a castle and most importantly to us, ADVENTURELAND with tons of Polynesian decor (Enchanted Tiki Room, anyone?!)
Pirates of the Caribbean. It has the most repeatability of any Disneyland attraction for me. While Space Mountain is my personal favorite, Pirates of the Caribbean is what I, among many, consider "the best" of the park. I feel like I could ride it dozens of times and never fail to be amazed or notice something new. Plus if it was in my own background, I could remove the movie additions to restore the attraction to its former glory. Then I'd fill it up with cleaner water and swim through it.
But as far as attractions that would actually physically fit in my background, I'd have to say Tarzan's Tree house. Not a fan of the current Tarzan theme, but I've always wanted a tree house in my backyard.
Didn't Michael Jackson have a Mr. Toad's Wild Ride?
And didn't he ask Disney to build a Pirates for him but they refused?
I wonder (if you have the tens and hundreds of millions lying around) if you really could build a Disney-quality replica ride on your own property. I guess you probably could, as long as you don't open it to the public.
"Disneyland is a work of love. We didn't go into Disneyland just with the idea of making money." - Walt Disney
Swiss Family Robinson Tree the way it used to be without the Tarzan stuff.
I was thinking the same thing. How about the tree house instead of a house? Three acres of property covered with real trees and at the center is the SFRTH, stream and all. Add a few awnings so you can go from room to room when it's raining and bingo. Add some Tiki Room birds and decor to a few of the main rooms and Bingo.
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.
