    McDonalds and Disneyland....

I ran across this History on a Downey Blog Page. Some of you may not know or you already do but the oldest still-functioning McDonalds restaurant in America is in Downey, California. A man named Ray Kroc approached the McDonalds brothers about creating franchises, and eventually opened his own McDonalds franchise in Illinois in 1955. (Kroc also tried - and failed! - to get a McDonalds restaurant into the Disneyland, based on his wartime friendship with Walt Disney.)

Its kinda Funny that the Fries made it at the DLR.

(Kind of the antithesis of eating at the Blue Bayou at Disneyland.)

    Re: McDonalds and Disneyland....

Everytime I pass a McDonalds location in the resort I crings for two reasons:

-It's even more overpriced inside the park/there's a location rightoutside the gates at lower prices.
    -McDonalds just plain SUCKS!

Can't eat at McDonald's anymore after seeing the "Super Size Me" DVD. I'll literally vomit if I eat there again. I haven't had one single thing from there since I saw the movie and I am much better off for it.

    McDonald's SUCKS

    Re: McDonalds and Disneyland....

Why do you guys complain so much? Yes, it's overpriced, but so is everything else. What's the big difference between McDonald's and what was there before?

Are the burgers served by the Disney-operated greasy spoons around the park really that much better? Doesn't seem like it to me, and I just spent a week eating from nothing but WDW's counter joints (save one character dinner.)

Replacing MouseBurgers with RonaldBurgers, with no change in how overpriced it is. Who cares? There's more important things to complain about, like how fry carts turn into bird feeding grounds.

Does it really take something like the common sense movie that Super Size Me is to tell you that McDonald's sucks?

Happily inside Disney California Adventure ... or at the nearest theme park I can find.

I would choose Conestoga Fries (hosted by McDonalds) inside Disneyland or Burger Invasion (McDonalds) inside Disney's California Adventure any day over the currently awful burgers, mediocre food and slow service at Club Buzz in Tomorrowland.

    Still missing Tomorrowland Terrace...

Of course, if you're inside Disney's California Adventure, the best burgers (big, fresh and a great condiments bar) are inside Taste Pilot's Grill.
Yes, I do LOVE Disney California Adventure. Disneyland is not so bad either ;-)

I live 2 miles away from Disneyland if Walt would've built it at Riverside and Buena Vista.
