Frontierland "Rough Cut"

Howdy gang! I'm looking for some creative assistance.

Here's the backstory. My boyfriend and I took our friend Emily to Disneyland - it was her very first trip to the Magic Kingdom (she's 24 so I was surprised she had never been). I decided to make a video of our day at the park as a present for her and started editing it recently.

So far I only have a rough cut of Frontierland. I was wondering if anyone could take a look at the video (it's about 5 minutes long and a 47MB download) and let me know what they think. Any constructive feedback would be appreciated.

Some things to keep in mind - the front of the clip's audio doesn't come in for a couple seconds, and the clip ends abruptly. Both ends of the sequence will be edited with other sequences later, as they're completed.

The video was compressed to a manageable size - so the picture quality is crappy. Sorry, but otherwise it would have been close to 10GB.

Also, I'm not editing the rides "in order." I'm going for more of sense of the experience of the lands and attractions, so the Mark Twain's voyage is all over the place.

Lastly, I'm not including things we didn't experience during our visit, like most restaurants, or The Golden Horseshoe, etc.

Wow, that's great. My first impression was that the music fit perfectly with Frontierland. And I like what you did with Big Thunder Mountain, how you'll have a shot on the ride and then from the outside of the ride. It creates a neat effect.

Then I really liked how the music slowed down to a lazy, river-like pace for the Mark Twain. PERFECT! And the shots are really pretty.

Overall, I'd say you did an excellent job, and if I were your friend I'd be thrilled to get the video! I can only imagine what you did with the rest of the park. The only thing that kind of bothered me was some of the bumpier shots on BTMRR, but other than that, EXCELLENT!

On the first screen, choose the button marked "free." On the second screen, you'll have to wait about 45 sec to one minute to be able to DL the video. Rapidshare is a little strange for first-timers. I'll try to upload it to You Send It as well.

Thanks, but I finally figured out what it was doing and got it downloaded. It didn't take any time at all, and the picture isn't crappy at all! I loved it!

I liked the soundtrack and overall it looks very good. Makes me wish I was there right now.

I would recommend:

In the intro, I would stick with either wide shots or close-ups. They seem the best at quickly giving an overview of the park and setting the tone. The shots of people walking by didn't work as well for me.
