Free Disneyland tickets at Shareholder meeting?

    Hello,
A friend who is much more knowledgeable about Disney than I said the company gives free Disney theme park tickets out at the end of the shareholder meeting. Is this true?
She's invited me to go with to the shareholder meeting so we can get tickets and go to Disneyland after the meeting, but I don't want to take a day off work if she's wrong.
    Any information would be appreciated.
    Thank You

I've been to two meetings, and while they had the characters there, I never saw any free tickets to anything. Just Eisner blowing smoke, if you can call that an attraction.

Even if you don't get tickets, I bet it would be a fun event to attend, especially now with Iger being CEO. Don't forget that Disney is certainly becoming an exciting company to watch again, and if I was a stockholder and I could make it to the meeting, I would definately go! Exciting!

they used to give free tickets but remember that lately all the meeting were held in obsure cities away from the main hub of shareholders in southern California.

This year will mark the returnof the meeting to anaheim. Iger is not afraid to meet the crowds like Eisner was. Eisner always dogged the criticism.

Yep, Iger is at least willing to come out of the corporate cave. With all that has happened in such a short amount of time, I would imagine that attending the shareholders meeting would be worth it alone this year just on those merits. Let's see, what might be on the agenda. First old business, Disneyland turned 50 (Eisner shocked, he didn't even realize there was a park in SoCal), then Eisner and his clan are shown the door. Pixar deal alive again with Eisner's departure, a pattern is forming. Iger calls Steve Jobs and says he needs his JC skipper back. Lasseter agrees, but wants a new title. Let's see future, Lasseter back in old stomping grounds and hopefully allowed to do as he pleases. Steve Jobs hand is in Disney's cookie jar. Well, a lot has changed since last year (and this is only the obvious) so it should be quite entertaining. I would expect (but I'm not an insider, so this is only an opinion) that Jobs and probably Lasseter will be making appearences. So, personally tickets or no tickets, if I had the opportunity to go, I would. MasterGracey just said it best, Disney is certainly becoming an exciting company to watch again.

    Ahoy all,

A little off-topic here. But anyone know how long these meeting last? Are they an all day thing or what? I am a shareholder. But I have to work until about 1:00pm that day. I am going to the park for Pin Trading Night anyway. Would it be worth it to go down in the early afternooon?

    Thanks,
    Aprille :-)

meeting is a normally a couple hours or so. It starts at 10am.

Need to have ticket to enter. The ticket should be in your proxy package.
One ticket per shareholder which allows you and one guest unless the shares are in a joint account then two tickets are issued but only those two people are allowed in the meeting.

You could find all the information on the shareholders site.
If you do not receive a paper statement for your shares and only use the internet to keep track of your shares then a ticket will not be mailed unless it is requested.

That is what i remember last time i checked the information site.

By the ticket that was mailed to you as part of the Proxy Package.

The ticket does have your name on it, and in the past, they have checked names against I.D.'s, especially in 2004, when Michael Eisner got the LARGE no vote.....
