Re: Lego Disney Part 2

I believe DarylF has tried to make fools of all of us!

It's clearly obvious that he took photos of actual buildings at the park, and photoshopped them to have some kind of "Lego" look--you know, like you can make a photo look like a charcoal sketch or an oil painting.

Nice try, Daryl, but I'm not fooled.

(oh, and in case someone thinks I'm serious--words cannot describe how awesome I think Daryl's work is).

Re: Lego Disney Part 2

Amazing. This should be on display at World of Lego in Downtown Disney, or at Miniland in Legoland Carlsbad. That would be very cool to see. Or if they sold models of rides, Jungle Cruise, Astro Orbitor, Dumbo, Thunder Mountain or Splash Mountain, Haunted Mansion, etc..

A quick seach of Brickshelf turned up this scale New Orleans Square with select scenes of Pirates of the Caribbean, though I don't know who made or built it...http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=118683

They could easily market a LEGO set of the Disneyland Railroad or Disneyland Resort Monorail...

Re: Lego Disney Part 2

That is awesome. I love how you have Star Wars stormtroopers driving the car on Main Street and the Star Wars people on Main Street.

You have way too much time on your hands. You need a hobby or something...oh..wait..never mind.

It is great looking. Very impressive.

Re: Lego Disney Part 2

As a kid I had a ton of Lego's and made all kinds of stuff, but that just blows away anything that I ever had.

That is awesome. Great Job!~!

Re: Lego Disney Part 2

Way Cool. Are you planning to do the entire Park someday? I also think that this should be on display at the Legos Store in Downtwon Disney at Disneyland. That is just incredible. So awesome I am at a loss for words.

I believe this is the first Disneyland display that Daryl built last year. The detail is incredible!

Thanks for the link to my display from last year, Mamabot. The weekend was a total blast, and my group did in fact in 1st place in the Peoples Choice category. Being a model train show, the organizers decided to divide the displays into two categories: Prototype (realistic model trains) and Fun (Lego, Meccanno). Approximately 13,000 people attended the show.

I am planning to have portions of this set up at this years Calgary Exhibition and Stampede, held over 10 days in early July.

Things to look for in the photos include a candle in window of the Fire Station; Disney Characters, including Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Peter Pan, Mr. Smee, Captain Hook, Belle, Snow White and 2 dwarfs, Cinderella, Ariel and Tinkerbell. Also look for several of the old time "whitewing" custodians, the Walt and Mickey statue "Partners". Hard to tell in the photos, but It's a Small World also featured moving gears and the tick-tocking face.

This display also featured audio tracks playing area music from around the park. Crowd pleasers included the Main Street Electrical Parade, as well as It's a Small World.
