June 21st closing time

The June calendar is up on the Disneyland website. On Wednesday, June 21st, Disneyland closes at 9pm. I didn't think this was a grad night, so does anyone know why they may be closing so early on that day? Every other day that week (except for June 22nd - which is a grad night) they close at 12 midnight. Could this be when the POTC premiere occurs?

They are closing the park early because my friends and I rented out the park for an evening of fun! We are celebrating getting our Doctorate's from the University of Southern California. Just kidding, I have no idea why, but wanted to see what people would say.

Probably not too far off. Corporate parties or what not can close the park early on weird days.

It is also subject to change, as the movie will have to be ready by that date in order for it to be the premiere night.

I don't think it's a Grad Night unless they recently added that date. The only Wednesday scheduled in June for a Grad Night is the 14th.

I would think that since POTC has been announced to reopen on 6/24 they would want to have the premiere on Friday the 23rd or maybe Wednesday the 21st?

Anything is possible and subject to change.
Movie is in theaters July 7th or so. June 21 seems a bit early for a premiere. Any closer to 7/7, and it starts getting very busy.
For this kind of "synergy," I think a Memorial Day release date would be better.

The premier for the first movie was on 6/28 with the opening on 7/9 so a 6/21 premier with a 7/7 opening does not seem that far off. Also with the problems the first one caused with it being on a Saturday perhaps they figure mid-week would be less of a disruption.

It's mid-June, longest daylight of the year. It's going to have to be pretty late to start the film.
I believe last time there was a red-carpet walk from the front gate to NOS. People could stay and watch the stars, but after a certain time, the park closed.
Then, there was the CM holding pen.

No they didn't. The red carpet stuff was during the day. But the movie premiere was at night when it was dark.

^ Right. But that's counted as the "premiere" (red carpet and such) too. I think the movie didn't start until 7 or 8.

I seem to recall the red carpet starting at about 5:30 or so.
