Question Disneyland on Oscars Day?

Hey... any idea how crowded the park should be on the 5th due to the Oscars? I was expecting it to be pretty empty on Super Bowl Sunday, but unfortunately it was just the opposite... I'm hoping tomorrow won't be the same. Any guesses?

Re: Disneyland on Oscars Day?

It might still be crowded, its not that popular, i dont plan to see it, so expect crowds! These kinds of days are what tourists are waiting for!

Don't forget, tomorrow is the last day POTC is open before it goes down for almost 4 months of rennovations. I expect to see a large draw due to that.

Re: Disneyland on Oscars Day?

Pirates will probably have an hour wait tomorrow so the park probably will be really busy.

Re: Disneyland on Oscars Day?

The Oscars aren't that big a deal.. at least not as big as Super Bowl Sunday. And that day was still SUPER crowded at Disneyland.

Re: Disneyland on Oscars Day?

This is the exact question I was going to ask. Frankly, I'm sorry we have passes this year, it has been so busy. The last Sunday and President's Day Monday, we've left because the lines just to get into Mickey and Friends were so bad.

How's the park on Saturday compared to Sunday right now? We have Deluxe so I think those are still okay for us right now but maybe restricted for SoCal passes (so many different one now, I can't keep track).

Anyone have any thoughts? Our kids really want to visit the park again but, frankly, it's been lousy with people and we've been opting for Adventure City, the Discovery Science Center and other things lately because we just can't face what it will take to do D-Land.

Packed both days... normally Sunday is even more packed since less AP'ers are blocked out. It's only going to get worse from here with wonderful Sping Break coming up.

Have fun!

Re: Disneyland on Oscars Day?

I never watch the oscars it's boring and I just don't care who wins or doesn't win...I won't eb in DL either though. Thats due to a huge convention in anaheim though. I'm expecting it to be busy...

I regret buying a pass this year also. Mine expres on 03/13/06 and I will not be re-newing it anytime soon. I will do the wait and see....hopefully everything calms down soon, but if it stays busy all the time ...well, I ahve no desire to go back during those conditions.

The Oscars being on has pretty zero impact on the park attendance.

It was extremely crowded today. At about noon, the lines to get into DCA were about mid-way into the esplanade. The lines into DL weren't quite as long. After wandering through DL for a little bit, we went into DCA for lunch. The lines at the entrance were gone, but the line for Pacific Wharf Cafe was out the door, though the line moved fairly quickly. The line remained out the door for the entire time that we actually ate our lunch. Making it back over to DL, the tight walkways were really crowded. At about 2pm, Pirates had a posted wait time of 45 minutes, but it didn't seem to take quite that long.
