Apology and Trip Report from Yesterday

Well, as you can see I have returned. First off I did question some friends about the 999 ghosts and found out that I either heard the info wrong, didn't hear the critical part at all, or was just not paying attention to hear all of what was said. The truth is, I made a mistake and I am truly sorry for the tantrum I threw. That said, I will be a lot more careful in future posting to make sure I am correct before postings. I have been a member of this group too long (I am not a total stranger to this group at all) and every so often I do make mistakes. So I am sorry about the storming out, but after all, I am old enough to be be cranky every so often. Retirement is sometimes not all it's cracked up to be.

Back on track now, a Friend of mine did come by on Saturday really early (around 5:30am) and took me to Disneyland. We were there from opening till closing, and boy am I paying for that today. We went on Mansion almost first (we just had to do Indy first as there was hardly a line) and for me there was a lot of new stuff in the attic, but I know from the pictures posted here, that nothing had changed since the postings on Friday. It's nice to see the attic being redone so well, and I can only hope that just before they turn on all the new effects in Madame Leota's room and other places, that they shut it down for a couple of days and really go through and clean the things like glass and scrims. I think when they are ready to unveil this redone Mansion, they really want it to sparkle, so to speak, so I am pretty sure it will get a clean up just before they do anything big. At least that is what I am hoping.

We spent from 8 till 10am at Disneyland and went on Indy, Mansion, Big Thunder, Space Mountain, Star Tours and spending a of time walking. We then crossed over to DCA, which was a lot more crowded than we thought it would be (The lines at the Entrance was almost as long as the lines at Disneyland) and rode TOT, visited the Animation Building and took the learn how to draw show, took lots of pictures, walked through the redone areas, had lunch ( the Fish and Chips were open so that was mine and my friend went down to the Space McDonalds and brought it back to where I was), then our fast passes for Calif Screamin were good so we rode that. walked over to Redwood Trail and explored in there, saw the Brother Bear show and then went through the Grand Californian to exit to DTD.

Went through Worlds of Disney (bought nothing this time) and then back into Disneyland. Had dinner at Plaza Inn, walked around and took the Monorail out to DTD, checked out the bookstore, and re-boarded the Monorail back to Disneyland. Found a place at the hub, in front of the Castle that allowed us to lean on a trash can and use the rail to lean against. Clear view of the Castle and despite three announcement that due to wind conditions above the Park, the show might be cancelled, it went off on time and was great. Really the first time I seen it from the hub and so close to the Castle. We then went over to see the 10:30 Fantasmic, which also played without a hitch. Then on the way out, we went on Jungle Cruise (they have a lot more Piranha now than before) and then went out and sat on a bench and watched the crowds leaving.

After a while we also left with the last few and came home. I didn't get in till 2am, so it was really a long day and, like I said, I am paying for it today. But, it was a great trip and a nice way to use my Premium AP one last time as it expires in 9 days.

There was only one bad thing all day. I was coming down the stairs at the DTD Monorail station and at the bottom of the stairs my legs suddenly just stopped working and I fell the last two steps, and came right down on both knees with nothing to hold onto. My friend was a ways ahead of me and didn't see anything, but the lady a little in front of me turned around because of the thud of my knees hitting the pavement. I was able to get back up again, and it was sore for about an hour, then I was OK. No skinned knees and my knee caps didn't break or come loose, which is a surprise as I really came down hard on both knees at the same time. Ouch. Anyway no pain today, other than aches and pains usually with all the walking I do and this day was really long.

So, that was my day, and I didn't see any Mice Chatters all day long, but it was really crowded yesterday. I don't know why, but it was.

Re: Haunted Mansion tracker

Went today and, aside form being yelled at from a loud mouthed mom and her red neck husband for joining my party in the line and being accused of cutting, nothing new.

Re: Haunted Mansion tracker

here it is!!! it was once covered with a purple sheet...it was teasing us with an uncovered corner...and then had a white sheet....this is the picture that's right next to the current bride.

So does that mean there are no sheets left or they've all been replaced with black/white sheets? Great pic btw!!!
