POTC taken from Andy Griffith?????

Does anyone know where Walt got the idea to have the dog in the jail, dangling the keys in front of the pirate and totally ignoring their pleas to bring them the keys?

The reason I ask....I was watching an episode of Andy Griffith last night (from 1964) and a dog that looked a lot like pirates sat in between Andy and Barney locked in one cell, and a convict in the next cell, and refused to buge while they tried to get the dog to bring the keys....just wondering!!!

I've seen that episode and thought about POtC too! :)

My kids and I were exactly the same way last night. Sure did look the same.
