Projectors may be the only way to pull off the effect. Also remember most of Spiderman the ride is done with projectors and it's great.

I'll wait and see before I reject the idea.

Does anyone think that the new show building is going to look a bit strange just right there in the middle? Who knows what the final product will be but right now it's just...odd.

Thats Disneyland Paris(theirs is just like WDWs) . And i think the island will look cool! but i dont like the boxes/ not underwater thing, it just ruins it for me! and definately dont think this will be a cheap way out! this is a great way to animate their movements that animatronics cant do! I think we'll just have to wait and see!

Does anyone know what the budget for this refurb is? I'm willing to bet its in the neighborhood of $10mm+
My guess is $70 million with all they have to do to get it back up and running...build a new station and everything. I mean Buzz is a $40 million (ish) ride...

    Actually thats Disney Sea.

And, form what I've read before, a good AA (such as the ones in the CBJ) can cost upwards of $700,000.

the new show building will be disguised as an island, so no it shouldn't.

So they new show building will be used for about 5 seconds of the ride? Future, I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels that way.

If they're going to make it into an island, they must be planning on doing steep rockwork... along side the new walls that are built up...

I would like to see one of the boxes, because what I am imagining right now is 3/4 inch Plexiglass that is rough cut on the corners, and glued together in a sloppy fashion. I'm sure they will do better, because that would look hideous!!

I'm curious to see though, you may not be able to tell that the characters are in boxes at all.... I hope they don't let moss build up on them... That would be gross!!!

I hope the island looks like the cliched/trite island in EVERY cartoon and movie... A little hump of sand, a palm tree, and a coconut.
