I went on Haunted Mansion Today

Well, I was at school and thought I'd make a quick trip to DL and i'm sorry to say that nothing has changed, no faces of former husbands, no bloody axe and no new mirror effects, just your basic rehab. I'm guessing the new effects will be added in the coming weeks or months if any. I hope it wasn't just an idea that just recently got hacked by Disney.

Given that it was only closed in mid-January, and the Pirates refurb is taking almost 4 months (with a head start of a week), it was probably a little optimistic of us to expect the changes to happen already.

I reckon they are more likely to take place post-June. I don't think it is coincidence that the Pirates closure starts at the same time the Mansion one ends. It wouldn't make sense to have New Orleans' two major attractions closed at the same time.

Actually, if reports are true, the effects will slowly be phased in over periods of short closures.

Yeah, but I meant for a significant amount of time. 3 days might give Mansion Maniacs the shakes, but they couldn't have them BOTH closed for 3+ months.

That's a bit disappointing. I was at least hoping the new light-ghost effect would be working in the seance circle.

I don't think it was too overly optimistic of us to hope for significant new changes. Haunted Mansion has been closed for nearly 2 full months... Much longer than it normally takes to remove Haunted Mansion Holiday... Oh well though, I guess we'll have to wait a little longer than we had all hoped for!

Eh, wasn't really expecting the new effects to be put in yet, if they are at all. I'm just glad that it's back up since Pirates is down now.

And good lord, does that sig need to be any bigger? :P Not that hard to make it a bit smaller, y'know.

Does it seem like the Mansion updates are getting more anticipation and excitement than the pirates updates? I am definitely a Mansion Maniac (thanks Loomis) and think that both rides updates will be sweet.

But I dont sense many people liking the "other" NOS ride "enhancement." And every time something changes in HM, the fans are universally pleased, and POTC universally offended. Am I wrong?

If I am not, than good for us HM fans, we must truly understand the spirit of innovation, invention (boy it seems like a combo of these two words might be a good idea ... nah!), and Walts wishes.
