Just seeing all those subs in the lagoon with the Monorail zipping by overhead. Wow. That is the "Tomorrowland on the Move" that I remember.
WOW, I haven't seen them looking that good for a loooong time! Must be vintage pics.
Hurry up and bring them back.
Same here... I seriously think, if they skipped Nemo and just used new space-age materials that weren't available when this ride was being built in the 50s to update the original attraction, even the cynics would be amazed at how well the story itself holds up. Outer Space is fine and all, but there is still so much to learn and explore about our own planet!Originally Posted by mp3piratesavvy
Nemo is gonna have to work awfully hard to get people to care. And it almost seems like a slap in the face to have him take over Disneyland's first ever E ticket, just shy of its 50 year anniversary. Sort of like if, on May 5, they rechristned Disneyland "California's Disney Adventure."

How does it? It doesn't. Not even the icky Tomorrow that Never Was. Seriously, isn't that one of Ebenezer Scrooge's nightmares?Originally Posted by Evan-500
But maybe what will happen is, a permanent wall will go up around the land, and the land formerly known as Tomorrowland will be our long-awaited 3rd gate. The rest of the park will stay Disneyland, but this new gate will be named Remainderland.

Pics just made me feel almost 40 years younger!![]()
That time oh so many years ago was probably the biggest event of my life, I remembered the subs more than any other ride, now what would our current generation think? What ride would give a lifelong positive memory of adventure to a young child?

not all those pics can be that old since in some of them the sub station has the Tomorrowland 98 paint job. I'm guessing from the period after the tomorrowland 98 renovation and before the subs clased in 99.

Just bringing back an old, great thread.
Good. Now I can ask...the Subs were docked (though the ride was closed) when I was there in '99...when did they get put away?
