So? The reason the old fashioned one was torn down was because it looked dated. They wouldn't tear it down just because they thought it would be a fun way to spend money.

Sambo has a point, 50s nostalgia is not guaranteed to always be stylish. It could eventually be considered gharish, and then they're tearing down something perfectly functional again because popular tastes say that it looks ugly.

The hidden meaning of my post was that the current entrance although rather new - is already dated and looks ugly. So why not cash in on a current trend, even though it too will become dated in time?

Why not strive for something attractive yet timeless?

Easy to strive for but hard to hit. Only time and public opinion can really define "timeless". Attractive is much easier and not what the current one is...

It shouldn't be too hard for them to replace the ugly orange peel sign. Maybe just a simple bright colored sign with a big Mickey Mouse on it. Kids would definately notice the big Mickey.

How many MiceChatters would it take to storm John Stamos' house to get the old sign back? That is obviously the perfect solution to this issue.

I'm quite sure they have the materials and know how to construct a new sign... or else they know who to order one from.
