    Electrical Parade audition

The audition is next saturday and im kind of mixed as to wether i should go or not (anyone here going?) even though it says face characters and dancers..do you think they will round up the failing dancers(like at blockparty)and make them masked characters? Is the EP audition gonna be dance intensive? Im assuming its gonna be easier than block party at least haha, so yeah should i even go to this? or is there gonna be a seperate audition for those who wish to be masked characters in the parade?

I think it will be very similar to BPB, just with a different style of dancing. It does say characters, so they probably will round up the failed dancers again.

Just go! At least you won't regret skipping it in the future.

I've considered going but I'm torn. I'm applying to DL for attractions this Thursday so I think I'll just stick with that and wait for the next BPB audition.

same dancing like at BPB or an easier dance? Because i couldnt pick up the BPB routine quick enough and it got annoying lol, I dont know but now that i know what the audition process is like ill be less nervous hopefully (Those disney ppl are intimidating). BTW I dont remeber a whole lot of dancing in this parade, what types of dances are done in it?

    Re: Electrical Parade audition

I have a feeling the DEP auditions will be the more traditional style of dancing like they would use for POD auditions. more jazz, ballet, lyrical type stuff. but in the beginning probably more character based, as the parade is more character based.
and trust me, character roles are not simply the people who weren't seen as skilled "dancers" at the auditions. not all the time.
    good luck and have fun.

There really aren't many Fuzzy/"Masked" characters in DEP...
Unless you're on the shorter side.

But yeah -- more traditional dancing in this one. Not as upbeat and hip hop-ish like Block Party.

    I'll be there.

i was planning on going to this audition, because i would love to be in EP, but i just got a job at chick-fil-a and that with school, i don't think i could do the EP in the first place. i think ill start auditioning again, if and when i transfer to cal state fullerton in another year and a half, or get a car, whichever comes first.

I think what you are missing in the parade is it is all choreographed. Learning a dance routine shows someone how easily you can pick up on choreography. They are not necessarily always looking to see if you can make every step itself perfect in the audition, but can you remember "3 steps left, arms over the head, 2 steps left, one forward." How fast can you pick up on a new routine. Some people may not realize the whole parade is a dance. The choreography throughout the parade is very set. So, the choreographers are looking to see how well even the masked characters can memorize routines. Which character are you interested in?

Always dreamed of being one of the ballroom dancers with Cinderella in that segment of the parade. They're all so beautiful. Maybe I will audition.

I believe the height requirement for Dopey is 5'2" and under. It might be one of the 5'6" characters, but I think it is 5'2". The Lion is probably a 6'0" character. I believe call time is 7pm for an 8:45pm step off. It might be 6:30pm.
