Hey MC'ers! I went to the park today and, though it was a cold, ominous day, it did nothing to diminsh the crowds.
The day started at the trams, as usual but something was very different. Garrish signs advertising DCA were there ready to sway any intention of entering Disneyland with promises of Monsters and Turtles.
A sign post cuts into the foliage
The Trams and security were running effeciently at noon and we hit a snag at the front gates where there were looooooooong lines and not enough open gates to get us through in a reasonable amount of time.
We got inside and Main Street was humming with activity
Ahhhh The meet. A small one, but a meet none-the-less. We missed you OSG, RadioBarry, and A_Hyperbole!
Fishbulb and The lil' bit of Sun
After lunch we all headed over to the recently re-opened Haunted Mansion for a look see and saw afew things along the way...
The Tiki Room drawing crowds in with it's invitation of warm indoor entertainment.
The signs above the Closed entrance to Pirates reads "Dead men tell NEW tales". Let's hope it's one we all want to hear.
The Haunted Mansion was PACKED but the line moved swiftly. We were all very eager to see if the ride had returned from it's 2 month closure fresh and sparkling.
Unfortunately I have to say that I was surprisingly dissapointed in the condition of this attraction after such a long closure. Perhaps the changes or repairs were not evident to the guest, but much was still in dissrepair. There were several sound problems, often times it would skip. I saw wear and tear all around the wall paper and wood paneling in the portrait room. The seance room is altered and the lighting is more fine tuned aside from the huge shadow madame leota casts on the wall behind her. The attic scene is cleaned up some and the lighting was, again, fine tuned. The graveyard scene still showed great signs of wear with several holes in the skrims very visible . A dissapointing ride.
After that we ran over to Big thunder...
Fun Stuff! Lastly we all opted for a ride on Mr. Toad.
"To DCA with you ALL!!!!!!"
We exited the ride and saw a familliar face cheering a young girl on at the Sword in the Stone.
Richard Kind, of Spin City and Bug's Life Fame.
...And that was it.
We did head over to DCA, as the Devil Judge told us to do, but it was too crowded and we all went our separate ways.
