Angry Disney Reservations dirty little secret

    OK, I'm pissed off.

I really wanted reservations for the Fantasmic balcony. So I carefully marked off the pre-requisit thirty days (I want go on the 12th, so the 11=1, 10=2, 9=3 etc...) and called right at 8:00am only to find out they started selling tickets yesterday and were already sold out. SOB!

So for your future reference tickets are NOT sold 30-days in advance. They are sold one MONTH in advance, not at all the same thing. If you want to go on the 12th you need to call on the 12th of the previous month. Don't count days.

So what your saying is, if I want a reservation for JuneI need to make the reservation in late few days of April, first day of May?
    Sorry to hear this happen.

If you want a June 1st date, call May 1st. If you want May 31st, call April 30th. I always call a couple weeks before hand just to verify the date they will start selling them.

Go to the CONTACT US section of the Disneyland web site. Let them know you're disappointed and upset that information regarding reservations is wrong on the Disneyland.com web site. I bet Disney will see what they can do to make it right for you.

Don't they always have day-of tickets available?

Why don't you just stay an extra day and see Fantasmic the next day?

Unfortunately with the need to make advance reservations for just about everything, our schedule is fairly tight and too difficult to change at this point. We will be off to Universal on the 13th...

After I finished blowing steam from my ears, I called back and took the still available premium Fantasmic seating for the same day. It's not quite the same as the balcony but I'm sure it will be totally magical all the same.

There was one thing that you left out of your message. If you start calling at 8:00am you will also miss out. When I got my reservations I started calling at 7:30am and continued to call every 30 seconds until I got through at about 7:55 and I got the last 4 seats.

    Best Regards,

If your reservations are for April 12th I'm going to shoot spitballs up at you.

    Thanks for the good tip.

I doubt anyone ever really reads all those emails. The best solution is to go straight to Disneyland and turn in your comments there.

It sounds like they should raise prices for this thing. Demand seems to far outstrip supply one month in advance.

Actually, someone does read those emails. I sent one once, after a dissaointing day at the park, and let me tell you, there were a ton of problems, and they actually gave me free tickets. So, it's always worth a try
