Re: Are the California letters leaving?

Big mistake if Disney does it.

Even though it is outside the park, people just go crazy for those letters!

Tourist #1: Hey, Ryan, your name starts with a R! Let's go take a picture of you with the giant 'R'...because, you know that's what your name starts with!
    Tourist #2 (Ryan): Cool beans!

That scenario probably plays out 100 times everyday. A bunch of people are gonna complain once those things are gone, trust me.

Re: Are the California letters leaving?

A lot of people use the letters as markers to know where to meet.

Tourist #1: Okay guys, we'll split up and meet at the "A" in California, okay?
    Tourist #2: Which "A"?
Tourist #1: Oh, nevermind. We'll might at the "C"
    Tourist#2: Okay, bye!
Tourist#1: Bye! Have the greatest day of your life in Disneyland AND Disney's California Adventure!"

If removing the letters makes the entrance look less like a postcard, then I'm all for it.

The postcard concept was and is weak.

I wonder if Stamos has any interest in these letters? (okay, maybe only I think this is funny)

Dang it - you beat me to it.

    ....

The letters could also possibly be leaving as a liability factor. I don't think Disney ever anticipated parents letting their children climb up inside of the R for a photo-op. I see it all the time, and its ridiculous. Do people not get that the letters are not jungle gyms?

I'm sure theres more to their removal, but just throwin out an idea

Everything is a jungle gym to kids - it's so hard to keep them off the ropes in the lines!

But I will miss the letters - my son A.J. gets his picture in the first A every year.

Will trade husband for Disneyland and DCA Pins!

I kinda thought that they planned for people to climb into those letters and take pictures when they put them there. Is that just me?

Uh oh, hope the Disney execs don't see this and decide to put the whole alphabet out there!

    1. Change the F to P.
    2. Keep the I.
    3. Change N to X
    4. Keep the A
    5. Keep the R.

There. Couple hundred thousand dollars, paid for by the selling of the other letters.

We'll have to wait and see if they pull these just as fast as they were going to pull the rocks in Tomorrowland, seems to take a while for these kind of things!

When the letters were first installed, I thought there would be major safety issues.

I think OSHA does not permit standing or sitting on anything 40" or taller that doesn't have a back or a railing.
