The Disneyland website now shows the POTC will not be open until Monday, June 26th! If this is true, I could scream (I think I will scream!) Already paid for flight (departs on Tues 6/27) and hotel reservations, and dog sitting arrangements... I thought it was announced that it would reopen on Saturday, 6/24. Anyone know what's going on? Thanks!
Do note that it might have soft openings prior to its actual re-launch.
And that it will be there the next time (after this time) you go. It's not the end of the world.

HM had two days of soft openings before it officially reopened, Pirates will probably do something similar.

It's nice to know they might have soft openings... but it is strange that they suddenly added the closure listing, whereas before it showed it was open. They do show Blue Bayou open on those days.
All that stuff is subject to change, especially this far in advance...
Who knows, you might get real lucky and they'll change the date again, but to an earlier one.

It may be true that they are having soft openings for POTC. I just called Walt Disney Travel and they said Pirates opens on the 25th and Blue Bayou opens on the 23rd. Then I called Disney dinning (just to see if there was any consistent information) and they said Blue Bayou reopens on the 21st! I suspect all should be resolved 60 days prior, since that's when they open up dining reservations.
The "Resort Today" for 3/17/06, a daily Cast Member info sheet, shows both Pirates and Bayou opening 6/24. This info sheet give current information about closures, operating times for the parks, etc. (basically critical daily info). Of course all things are subject to change, but that was what todays sheet gave for the opening date.
Not that I'm keeping track, but only about 69 more new POTC threads to go until my estimate of 75 before late June is reached...Keep em comin'...(LOL)

The change on the website just occured over the past few days. Plus besides calling dining and WDT I also just called the hotel to extend my trip one extra day. I also asked them if they had any information about the reopening of Pirates and Blue Bayou. She said "yes", they just changed it and she had Pirates opening on 6/26 and Blue Bayou opening on 6/23. So far each Disney department has given me a slightly different answer. With all due respect, you were cutting it a little close anyway, weren't you? I mean, I would have given it a few weeks to allow for delays and any other problems. Besides, if you are arriving on the 27th, that's still after the 26th isn't it? Sorry if I'm missing the point, but if you are arriving on the 27th, what difference does it make if it re-opens the 24th or 27th? Or are you leaving on the 27th? Either way, you are there for the opening...
Anyhoo, you'll probably luck out and get a soft opening anyways...

I just hope that they get the ride working again! I know that they have to stick Depp's head on a few pirate bodies. They also have to dredge the thousands of camera at the bottom of the ride. Other than that, we should be good to go.
I just hope that I don't see Johnny Depp's head on the plaque before the first drop!
