Monte Cristo anywhere else? Fantasmic Dessert?

My wife and I will be in DL in a few months. Since the Blue Bayou is closed, where else can I take her for a Monte Cristo Sandwich?

ALSO, has anyone done the Fantasmic/Dessert experience? How much is it? Is it WORTH it?

    THANKS!

The Monte cristo is only served at the BB, but whether it will be served eslewhere during the reahb or can be speacial ordered...I wouldn't know, but it wouldn't hurt to ask while your there....

The fantasmic/desseet buffet...The cost is a amount of a days ticket into the park....I think it's $57.00 right now, but I'm not sure. I haven't bought aday ticket in a years....is it worth it? For me...absolutly NOT!! 9i don't even like the fantasmic show. I wouldn't pay to see it. I've only watched some of it once and left.)...but alot of people love it and would go again...so for others definantly....now, thats clear as mud....right? the worth is in the eye of the beholder. It's "value" would be different for everyone.

Re: Monte Cristo anywhere else? Fantasmic Dessert?

We searched for the illusive Monte Cristo this week but to no avail.

The best answer that we got was that they are still considering offer it up at one of the nearby restaurants, but it hasn't happened yet.

We had a craving for one all week! Oh well, hopefully they will have it resolved in time for our Easter trip.

    Sorry.

I LOVE the Fantasmic show! But would I spend $60 to eat dessert and watch it? Hell no. You can see it just fine without the special seating.

Depends on your likes and dislikes. We do it every trip, and we do Riverside. For us, we love it and feel it is worth it. Others prefer balcony, but for us, it is way too cramped. Either way, its $59 for everyone, at Riverside, children are $49 (no discount in Balcony.)
If you see a cute yellow lab puppy with a yellow cape, WAVE! It might be us! (Or it may be someone else that lurks here!) Thank you for asking before you pet! Next trip, Dec 22-Jan 3rd.

Re: Monte Cristo anywhere else? Fantasmic Dessert?

For the record, the desserts are amazing. One time a guest slipped me a chocolate covered strawberry when I was working sea wall near the Riverside seating, and it totally made my night. The other stuff is pretty good too, but I could eat about two pounds of those strawberries.

Also, I filmed Fantasmic! when DQ and I did the Riverside dessert, and got some fantastic footage. So there's that.

If I liked the show the only draw the added costs has for me is the convinence. I wouldn't have to camp out hours ahead of time, but the one time I watched part of the show I walked right up after the show had started. I left as the huge dragon came up....yeah,,,not my cup of tea....One more tip....don't sit down wind of fantasmic...they blow the river water up and it smelled bad....if you have the money and you want to see the show...go for it...you'll have a great view and sweets...

Well, outside the parks you can get a pretty good Monte Cristo at Bennigan's.

    I'm just sayin'.

Actually, it's not river water that they use for the screens; the water is dyed and it wouldn't work. I believe it's a separate source of fresh water.

The water screens are relatively thin, so I don't think it matters if the water is dyed or not.

Nope, they pump the water from the lagoon. The fanning process forms a spray, and any colored water when sprayed will have a somewhat white (lack of) color and all is well.
