Cool Status of Realizing my Disneyland Dream...

OK folks-It's pretty much a done deal. I'M GOING TO DISNEYLAND!! 20 years is way too long between visits! LOL

However when I will be doing that is the unanswered question.

    Here's my goals:

    1. When I go I want to get a good deal on airfare and passes etc
    2. I'd prefer to go when it is less crowded however, that isn't too much of a big deal. However I do not want to choose the time around the 4th of July when the park is slammed
    3. I want to go sometime in the Summer June-September
    4. I want to go at a time in which I can meet up with as many MC'rs as possible.

This is of course a trip to the Happiest Place on Earth we're talking about. Beggars can't be choosers so I am willing to compromise on any/many/all of the above goals. When do you think would be the most oppertune time based on the info I have given.

thanks for all your help and encouagement so far. Y'all are the best!!

Good for you Bopper!!!!! I know you have some challenges with travelling alone, so I want to tell you how impressed I am that you're doing this! You're going to have a wonderful time, I just know it!

Based on what you mentioned, I'd try to schedule your trip for September, the later the better. It'll be less crowded (hopefully), as long as you avoid veterans day, the airfare should be decent as well.

Are you using a travel agent? If not, I can recommend one who is also a MC'er! I'm sure she'll pop up to offer her advice.

Way to go Bopper, I'm so excited for you!!!

Cool Re: Status of Realizing my Disneyland Dream...

But of course-I am defiinitely using our friend's travel agency. Not using them to travel to Disneyland would be a sacrilage!

Veteran's Day? I thought that was in November? ROFL I know you meant Labor Day.

I have some interesting stories about some of the travels I have taken independently I'll have to start a thread in the lounge about those someday.

Re: Status of Realizing my Disneyland Dream...

Congratulations on making the decision! I had my own issues after ten years of not visiting the park, and all I had to do was drive two hours when I finally went back in January.

I second the opinion that September, after Labor Day, would be best...the crowds might be somewhat smaller (but these days look for a crowd just about anytime it seems).

Also, if you want to meet as many MiceChatters as possible, some of us evil, vile creators of all problems known to man (check out the other threads LOL) -
anyway, many SoCal APs are blacked out basically from late June to late August.

Anyway, congratulations and have a great trip!

Woah woah Wait a second. Why are the AP'rs blacked out from that time period? I understand it is a peak period of time but why every day during that period? Don't you guys pay buckoo bucks for those Annual passes, not to mention the tons of mula pumped into the cofffers of the DLR? Give the Ap people a break please!

    (ok off topic rant over)

It's the 2 low end AP's that have those black out dates in the summer. They are the ones that cost $150 or less. The Deluxe has some holidays blackouts while the premium has no blackouts.

Ahhh Ok I get it now. I didn't know there were differant AP levels. I thought there was only one price level for an Annual Pass. Thanks

Sounds like you've made up your mind, but I'll add a belated vote for September as well.

I literally walked on to everything while I was there, which was completely against my expectations. Naturally, the weekends were still busy.

September is a great time to go. You will have an excellent time for sure. I'm excited for you. I remember going in that month and for the most part were really small crowds, if that. Happy times!
