Re: Why can't we have a Jolly Holiday with Mary?

Haha, imagine that: People riding umbrellas

A Mary Poppins restaurant is not such a bad idea. I'm interested. Why not the restaurant near Adventureland. The one that's closed up now for pin trading and seating.

QUESTION: Does Main Street have a "Lady & The Tramp" spaghetti special? Just wondering.

Re: Why can't we have a Jolly Holiday with Mary?

The real answer why there was not a ride ever built is that Walt Disney died too soon after the movie's opening. If he had lived, since he was an anglophile, I believe that there would have been a ride.

Now if you have been to Disney/MGM there is a portion of the ride on "the street tops of London." I believe that working the theme into Fantasyland at Disneyland would be hard.

BUT WHY IS THERE NOT A MARY POPPINS RIDE AT EPCOT! It would fit into the UK pavilion and add a much needed family ride to that park. That is really were it should go.

I think for Disneyland, the best idea is the restaurant idea. I always wanted to see penguins for waiters...

I'd be up for a Mary Poppins attraction! Who knows... maybe if the musical is successful in the states they might re-think it and put in one?

oh my, it would be a great attraction! Ppl love to fly and another flying dark ride would become a favorite if done right. Flying into chalk drawings , dancing penguins, Magically tiding up the room. . . I think it would be great. Especially at Epcot. there really is no room for it at DL. That restaurant idea is fabulous too! So doable.

From the response I see of people mobbing Mary Poppins, It would be a very well received attraction. Just look at Peter Pan's ride and it always has a line. Make it like that one and put it in Toon Town, er I mean in Villain's Land.

I think WDW should put one in as a 'tribute' to the woman who made the Florida Project possible with her killer box-office takings.

I agree it would be a good family ride at EPCOT. Hehe, penguin waiters

I agree....I mean look at the Pinocchio ride....those ride vehicles don't really have anything to do with the movie other than they have pictures of characters on them.

I always figured at this point she'd have a better chance of seeing life as a Main Street sitdown restaurant...I'd rather see like a little AA penguin entertainment in the dinner though, not as waiters.

Good idea. Sounds more realistic. I'm not sure if the whole penguin waiters thing was meant as a joke or not. I did they were just joking around...
