4/1 Photos and news from the DLR (No Joke)

    http://darkbeer.smugmug.com/gallery/1326599

Comments and tidbits of news, much of which comes from the latest Cast Member Reference Guide.

Saturday, the crowds at the DLR were lighter than the current normal weekend day. The forecasted rain was one reason. Also, it seems that the "Mini Gay Day" was lightly attended (much smaller than the crowds the have in October).

They have brought out an old horse drawn vehicle that was used on Main Street close to 50th years ago, and sits where they stagecoach used to be next to the Petting Zoo.

Cafe Orleans is scheduled to reopen as a table service restaurant on June 9th.

    Annual Pass Processing news.

First off, the Bank of Main Street opens at Rope Drop (1/2 hour prior to the official Park Opening) and remains open until one hour past closing time.

And a second location (Satellite) will open this Friday, April 7th. The Plaza Pavillion will offer AP processing from 10 AM to 7 PM daily. This location will be in addition to the Bank of Main Street. While not mentioned, I presume this will remain open thru the end of Easter Break (April 23rd).

Mickey's Halloween Treat will return in 2006, as Cast Members will be able to purchase tickets for the event starting Monday. (No list of dates was mentioned).

FYI, the Cove Bar is open 7 days a week, The Bar opens at Noon Friday thru Sunday, but at 2:30 PM Monday thru Thursday. The Bar has last call about 1/2 hour prior to park closing.

Alex Stroup over at MousePlanet mentioned in a thread that this is the last week for the "old" Dapper Dans, and that this Tuesday will be the last day the Main 4 will work together. If you have a chance, stop by and thank them for the entertainment they have provided for years. Looks like a new group of singers will start APril 11th.

thanks for the good photos and update, Darkbeer! I am glad to see that the park is utilizing more imaginative "pardon our dust" screens in POTC. Those Thunder Ranch signs were cute too! Keeps the magic going.

I find it odd that they'd use the horse from Wind in the Willows for the ranch sign, though... one of the horses from Pecos Bill seems like they'd be a better fit.

    Really interesting. Thanks!

I like how many more of these photos have captions than usual!

That sub showbuilding is huge...making me skeptacle of how they will hide it...
...and are they continuing the new building from it's central location all the way to the waterfalls? Is that a wall connecting them?

You noticed that but I guess to the average guest; a horse is a horse, of course of course . . .

Thanks Darkbeer. Those are so neat and the update was interesting. I guess they are planning for huge AP renewals or new purchases over the Easter Holdiays? I thought that I read somewhere back when Matt first came to Disneyland that one his top priorities was to get that Plaza Pavillion back in operation as a nice restaraunt again and that was why the AP location there was moved back to the bank. Now, nothing has happened and they open a branch of the "1st National Disneyland Pass Holder Bank" in there again. Strange.
