Question Soon to be AP'er questions

Hi Everyone,
My wife and I will be getting our first APs next month. We're going with the premium one so we don't have to worry about blackout dates. So here are my questions:
-I'll be buying online just to save a little time, do they send me a blank card, or do I just bring my receipt to the ticket counter?
-Do you get any sort of welcome packet with your purchase? (like a lanyard or something)
-What are the specific discounts? (the DL site is somwhat vaugue saying 10-15% on food and merch, etc)

Any help would be great, ty!

More than likely, they will mail you a "ticket", this is a voucher that works as an admission ticket to get thru the turnstiles, then you go to the Bank of Main Street (Or the Satellite location at the Plaza Pavillion if open) where they will take your photo, and print you your actual AP (Plastic card).

No.

The best list is at Disneyland.com, but you have to first get your AP and register at Disneyland.com/ap, or read the handout you get when you pick up your AP at the processing center.

But the best list available for the general public is available at MouseSavers.com

Re: Soon to be AP'er questions

Well, I don't think the link that other person posted will be much help to you so I'll let you know as much as I do. First, I think if you buy online you'll receive a ticket similar to a one day pass - you will use it to get into the park but then you'll have to go to register at the Bank of Main street to have it processed, your picture taken, and receive your permanent card.

As for gifts, I don't think there's anything like that. Sometimes I think they give APers a special pin, but I don't know for sure.

You receive 10% discount on merchandise in the park and at the World of Disney store - but this does not apply to certain collectibles.

The food discount is 10% (I think) though it might be 15% - but only certain places offer a discount. When you get your pass it should have a list of all discounts.

Hope this helps.

Start feeling entitled.
And don't forget to visit the AP Lounge, across the Esplanade.

Well, according to the AP bashers, you will recieve a book of tips and scams that will set you apart from the "paying" guests. The book will cover things like how to manipulate the FastPass system, how to get a secret pass from City Hall that allows you to skip all lines, where to find a bathroom with no waiting, where to watch the parade and fireworks shows without having any "clueless" first timers standing in front of you at the last minute, where and how to get free stuff and last (but not least) a whole section devoted to learning how to act like you own the place, since now that you are an AP holder, you DO own the place!

Welcome to the AP brotherhood! We'll be sending you instructions on how to do the secret handshake in a PM (we wouldn't want any non-AP'ers to know what that is, either!)

Enjoy! LOL

Re: Soon to be AP'er questions

Is the anti-AP sentiment really that common among the general public? lol.

Yep, you don't want to show your (AP) colors in the wrong 'hood! It could be costly!
