Thanks for all your feedback and comments everyone! Yes, it was (is) a labour of love.

I started construction on the Splash Mountain in April of 2004. Overall, it took me about 10 months to build everything, and then about a month to do 'detail work', such as flowerbeds, landscaping, seating areas, street lights and figures.

I'm not employeed by the Lego Company or sponsored in any way, LEGO is merely a hobby (obsession?). I was, however, a cast member at The Disney Store for 8 years (1994-2002) up here in Canada. I was a "traditionalist" type of Cast Member, and left the WDC because I didn't like the direction the Store was going.

I have no idea how many pieces of LEGO were used; I originally intended to count, but through trial and error, most parts of the display were re-built several times. There is probably more LEGO within the interior of Splash Mountain to support it than is actually visible!

Sadly, New Orleans Square has been disassembled in order to free up pieces for Main Street USA.

My dream would be to build the entire park in mini-fig scale (that is, to scale for all the little LEGO people). I would love to have Disney invite me down to display this! (or even work there.... I've ALWAYS wanted to be a conductor on the DLRR!) I've been tempted to write them, but know that they have a nice little form letter for solicitations. If any of you are CMs with any power... put in a word for me!

I just showed every shot to my 10 year old son, he's blown away! He thinks you are a Lego God (I agree with him!)

We also saw R2 and C3PO and he thought that was SO COOL

Holy cow, that's amazing. I commend you.

That must have been so time consuming and expensive but so worth it.
