    Question Hungry Bear Table Service

Does anyone feel that Disney would be making a good investment if they turned The Hungry Bear into a Table Service location, I feel that there is a high demand for this in The Resort and many families enjoy being able to take a break from all that Disney has to offer. Being a Cast Member a lot of guests state that there is not enough Table Service here compared to what is offered at Walt Disney World

    Re: Hungry Bear Table Service

I think Hungry Bear is better off as it is. It has a huge seating capacity which is really great for busy days at the park where a large number of guests just want a quick cheeseburger and a nice place to sit. If it became a table service location, it would not be able to serve as many people. This goes for Pizza Port ad well, and to a lesser extent, Village Haus.

It would be a better idea to convert a smaller restaurant like the River Belle Terrace (which supposedly is going to happen) or restore unused locations like Aladdin's Oasis.

Does anybody know what has happened to the kitchens at Aladdin's Oasis, by the way?

I believe that Aladdin's (and formerly the Tahitian Terrace) shared a kitchen with the Plaza Pavilion.

On topic, yes more table service is needed, and I agree that the smaller locations would serve this purpose better.

Well we're getting Cafe Orleans turned into table service, and River Belle is supposed to be doubled in size (granted it's not table service). I say leave HB alone and if its another table service location your looking for have them reopen Plaza Pavilion as a table service restaurant.

    Re: Hungry Bear Table Service

They should open back up the Plaza Pavilion as a table service restaurant.

I went to WDW in Dec. of '04 and I was comparing things and then I just amazed how such a place actually had people there doing things, eating, whatever, instead of what it has turned into right now.

Which is of course annual passport processing and also a mini pin cart stockroom.

The DL people have just such great ideas for that place! With all the theming and everything.

    Not really.

    Bye.

P.S. Aladdin's Oasis does have the main kitchen there that goes unused at the Plaza Pavilion. It just looks like a shell of it's former self.

They really need a burger and fry place on that side of the park in order to meet the needs of the SEMI independently wealthy families as opposed to the COMPLETELY independently wealthy families who will opt for table service.
The stage door cafe only serves chicken and fish strips, so your nearest burger is either in fantasyland or all the way over in tomorrowland.
So....yeah. Let's keep it as it is.

    Except....

COULD YOU PLEASE LEAVE IT OPEN FOR DINNER!????

WHY DO THEY CLOSE THIS PLACE DOWN AT 5:00 PM????

The Pavillion Main Kitchen was condemned several years ago and torn down. As I understand it, a complete rebuild would be necessary.

    I second this motion! lol

Since two restaraunts are already switching over to table service in the park, I don't think that any more would really be necessary at this point. Hungry Bear serves it's purpose quite well (excluding the early closure thing).

Question Re: Hungry Bear Table Service

How about a strictly adults only restaraunt? I know this is a family park and all but it would be nice to have a nice, quiet dinner without screaming kids nearby.

    Re: Hungry Bear Table Service

just to clarify....only Cafe Orleans is becoming table service. Riverbelle is going to expand, and a much larger dining area. [speculation] which will probably get some sort of fantasmic dinner deal as well....[/speculation]

edit: adding speculation. i dont want to be quoted and then yelled at if i'm wrong

AND eliminate the Bengal BBQ. :::weeping::: :-(

THAT said- MORE table service restaurants are needed! As WDW has shown - if you build it, they will come. AND EAT!!!

The Hungry Bear local would be a LOVELY place to have a nice leisurely paced dinner even late into the evening- with strategically placed lights the ambiance of the ROA would be tremendous!

    Re: Hungry Bear Table Service

plaza inn is not table service. i don't think it would accomodate table service. many guests tend to use it as a walkway, even with the widening of the walkways last fall. and during the fireworks it could very well become hell. perhaps you are thinking of carnation cafe?

the only place that i could see becoming another table service restaraunt would be the plaza pavilion

I like this idea, but it will never happen.

I really don't care if they become table service or not just please improve the food.

    Re: Hungry Bear Table Service

That would be nice to have a waiter/waitress. Even if it's not a full service. To have someone walking around offering to "top off your drink" would be nice. I love the Hungry Bear, I eat their everytime, but I do agree they should really control kids somehow. Give it a larger menu with big names. Something that kids wouldn't want to eat at, but still have the basic charm of Burger's and Fries.
