About the Cement Box. It is the frame for a hill/mountain/cave that the subs will go through before entering into the show building. We will meet the characters there first. It will be all covered and sculpted to blend in with the rest of the landscaping. And I am sure the subs will be painted and fixed up real nice before opening. I understand they will build a structure over the docs now to hide the work that will be going on with the subs. We have a year to go and they do need lots of TLC and new tech stuff added. But it is very cool to see them in the water again and out in the sun. When you got it, flaunt it baby!

not that i expected them to keep it that way.. but you never know....
when in 2007 is it scheduled to open? does anyone know?
Hey I have one more question: Are the submarines really white or is that some sort of white tarp covering them? I cannot tell!
I think that is primer. I am probably wrong though.
What I want to know is what is the capacity going to be like? The attraction has been gone for 8 years now and there are many people out there that wanted it back(like us Disney fans), plus this is a kind of ride you can't find anywhere else, oh and it is Nemo! That alone is going to drive in people.
WoW! it's great to see them all out in the water again. I hope the pressure testing etc all goes as planned. Looking at the Subs, they have clearly been sanded right back to remove all the rust, then covered over with a special type of anti rust sealant. I'd say they have done a few coats on each sub to be on the safe side. Looking at the stairs, it looks like they have done a similar job for the interior, sanding it all back and recoating the whole thing over in rust proof paint. Hopefully these measures will give them a needed longevity so that the full fleet can be in use when required.
If memory serves me correct, the subs were always such a slow moving low capacity ride. The last time I visited when they were there I couldn't be bothered going on. It really wasn't worth an hour and a half wait. This of course is all going to change when Nemo debuts next year. I just hope they have plans to resolve the capacity issues
I was hoping to be able to see the subs when wer are there at the end of next week but I heard that they were going to drain the ride in a couple of days. Kind of sucks, but I can't wait till next year. Honestly I can't really remember what the original ride was like due to the fact that my dad hated waiting in lines and the line was always so long.
