Re: Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage - New concept art released!

Well, it's almost 3AM here, and I clicked on this thread and jumped in my seat and my heart skipped a beat. Really. It's because of Dory. She looked alright in the afternoon, but now that I see this art at night it strikes me as to how creepy it is.

I mean, look at this expression:

Isn't that creepy? Looks like something that belongs in the Haunted Mansion.

    Indeed.

Here's the funny thing about it, though, picked out by another board.
Here's the concept art for the Submarine ride:

Meanwhile, here's concept art for Disney World's upcoming seacabs ride:

It's official, 20 out of 23 sea animals prefer Anaheim.

Very nice, thanks for sharing the images and links. This could be a very nice attraction, of course, I'm one of the ones who liked the old sub voyage, I kind of miss seeing the subs in the lagoon.

    Umm... okay, I'm "officially" confused.

Mt Wannahawkaloogie (or however you spell it) was a miniature in the aquarium in the dentist's office, no? So how are they going to rationalize it being in the actual ocean, where we can view it outside of our full-sized submarines?

I'm starting to feel my willful suspension of disbelief waning here. Does anyone have an idea how they're going to work this one out?

The other aquarium fish escaped and found an undersea volcano.

I doubt an explaination as to why the aquarium fish are hanging out in the ocean won't even be considered. It's unimportant considering it's fantasy.

Anyway, they're talking fish. I don't suppose that you can expect a whole lot of realism from this attraction, just a fun time.

I wonder if animatronic seagulls from the movie will actually be on that booay thing, like in picture 3.

Yes, the will also yell "Mine!" as they did in the films. Apparently this was tested some time ago before the lagoon was drained and prooved rather popular.

I'm guessing they will have chosen an undersea vent as their new Mt. Wannahockaloogie. They are very similar to the dentist's office version, more so than an actual volcano.

The tank gang escaped from the dentist's office at the end of the movie. The reason they are there has been explained.

Really? For the life of me, I can't remember that part. I guess I'll have to go watch Finding Nemo.

It was actually tested? Too bad there are no pictures of it.
