The HOODS have taken over Disneyland!!!

I wish that I had pictures...

During our Easter trip last weekend, we noticed a (very) large number of guests wearing hooded sweatshirts with the hoods up on their heads. We even saw folks walking around with just the hood on their head and the rest of the sweatshirt hanging down loose. Most looked like Unabomber wanna-be's.

Now I can understand a fad or something like that related to a certain group or demographic, but it was across the board. Young kids, tweens, teens, twenty-somethings, thirty-somethings, moms, dads, even senior citizens!

I can also understand using them when it is cold (for obvious reasons), but last sunday and monday it was not cold (maybe that is why some of them had just the hood on and not the rest of the sweatshirt). I even saw some with knit caps underneath the hoods.

Did I miss something? Was a model recently seen wearing a hood on the cover of GQ??? Or Teen magazine???

Maybe I'm just getting old...

Or maybe it's just me...

Anyway, I just thought I'd mention it, since other phenomenon's have been mentioned by fellow MC'er's (solo shoes on display, etc...).

Well, I wouldn't be surprized, I've seen worse (girls in pajamas, overdressed, flip-flops and shorts in the pouring rain, etc.).

Yeah, definitely a stupid socal thing (I'm saying this being a so californian), especially among the cholos. (If you're Mexican, you know what I mean, if you're not, be grateful. If I offended anyone, terribly sorry...)

That was the funny thing...

It was across the board. Whites, blacks, hispanics, and even asians. And all age groups.

I guess that it is an equal opportunity, non-age limiting, fashion statement.

As a side note, the trend continued at USH. When we were there monday afternoon, we saw just as many hoods per-capita than at DL.

Dude I live in hoodies during the winter. I usually wear them until it gets to be around 75. I love my hoodies. It's all about the Russell. Oh yah, I am from Central cali

Ditto, I love my hoodies too. Especially after a decent workout, nothing like wrapping myself up in a hoodie and not letting a breeze hit the back of my neck.

My mother, like you, calls me a gang member. So I just say, "Yo G, move along," and she hurls something lite at my head.

Yeah, sometimes, if my arms are full, I put the hood on only and just carry that way, while making wooshing noise like I'm flying like Superman.

Only my chest and arms are bigger!

In all seriously, I love my hoodies. I have like six of them.

As a high school teacher, I can 2nd Sorceress1986's point that it is a very popular look for the male Latio population. I think they think it makes them look tougher. I mean, it's a "hood" wearing a hood--get it? It also hides their ipods in the classroom (can't see the wires to their ears), and makes it difficult to tell if they are asleep at their desks since they tend to pull their hoods as far over their face as possible.
