Mighty Ducks logo tribute to Walt Disney?

Has anyone else noticed the subliminal tribute to Walt Disney on the logo of the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim hockey team? I just found out about it this weekend.

Uh... I don't know what's so subliminal about a hockey team previously owned by Disney, named after a Disney movie, with a Donald Duck goaliemask logo, but I'm going to assume you're talking about something else?

Well, I'm not the only one who didn't know this. You're making me feel a bit better now.

Take a good look at the regular logo of the MD's. It's not an overt tribute, but a subliminal one.

I'll check back here, but I'm certain someone else has noticed it.

The tape on the sticks that looks like a "W"?

I saw that the backup goalie (who started game 1) had a Daffy Duck on his mask.

Well... There's two Ws, which stand for Wally World, a nickname for Wal-Mart, which has a contract with Disney... an X, which stands for Atencio... upside down triangle, which is all over Disney theme parks (usually a pinkish colour, though)... Other than that. I'm not seeing it.

Oh... chotto matte kudasai! I see it! The big black circle is the back of Oswald's head and the hockey sticks are his ears!

    Steve D noticed it!

Those are clearly "W's" on the blade of the sticks and the person I spoke to says that it was done as a tribute to Walt.

Not sure who designed the logo, but I'm fairly certain it was by someone at the Walt Disney Company and we know how they like to leave "little" messages. Hidden Mickeys, Ride legacys, etc.

Here's the Mighty Duck's logo, in case anybody wanted to see.

I'm going to with what Steve said - the "W" made out of the tape on the hockey sticks

The real mystery is why is this in the Disneyland section?

    Disneyland is in Anaheim.

    Anaheim is THE Disneyland Resort.

Yep. That's all there is to Anaheim. They might as well rename Anaheim to be Disneyland Resort, CA.

If you peel back the "W" on the tape, you find the location of Walt's Cryogenically frozen body

Your logic puts the OH in Ohio.

The simple answer was ALL ENTERTAINMENT section.
