    Thumbs down Hista

I am one of the many who is suprised to see that Honey I Shrunk the Audience is not on the top of the list to be replaced! The show is very old the film is really grainy and It is a rare ocasion if they can get 15 people into one showing. Most people skip it because it is boring and non memorable, it uses characters everyone has forgotten and is severely outdated. I think Disneyland management should get rid of this ride because of the reasons above. I personaly think it is an embarassment to the land! If the future of tommmorowland is Fantasised space travel (SM, ST, BLAB). What does a scientist and a shrinkray have to do with the future. I can also say the same about Innoventions. If the future that current management is going for is the space travel of fantasty then how come these two attractions havn't got the nife yet? HISTA as I can imagine would be very easy to replace, why doesn't this ride get replaced yet?

Hista should be replaced with the ORIGINAL alien encounter, which was, as i read in an article on another thread, FREAKING AWSOME

Too bad they can't have Captain Eo back since Michael Jackson's all bat loco.

I think they should put something new and optimistic and TOMORROWLANDISH!

HISTA was cool for 1 or 2 viewings 5 years ago, but I agree - it's outdated and doesn't really go with the rest of the theme of TL. Maybe Alien encounter or a beefed up version of Mission to Mars would be cool.

To do a mission to mars, it has to be at RRPP because they need the circle theater,

I voted yes, only on the condition that they replace it with somthing. Tomorowland cant afford another attraction closure.

Same with me, replace it when you get the funds to replace it.

For some weird reason my husband enjoys it, but then again last time we visited Disneyland was in 2002 and we tried the attraction a total of 4 times I think. I find it OK, but nothing more.

You know if they did, many may not recognize that it's him.

You know, if they combined HISTA and the old Mine Train Thru Nature's Wonderland, you'd get the HISTA-Mine. If you were against combining these two attractions, though, that would make you Anti-HISTA-Mine. In which case, you'd be real popular during pollen season.
My fondest memory of Walt Disney was the day Disneyland opened....I was standing next to him - I was 12 years old - he was looking at the gate where people were coming through, he had his hands behind his back, he had a grin from ear to ear, but you could see the lump in his throat and the tear coming down his cheek because his dream had been realized. -- Mouseketeer Sharon Baird, "Mouseke-Memories", Walt Disney Treasures: The Mickey Mouse Club

    It's time.

Even with the grainy quality of this 3d'er, it has some of the most fun effects of any other 3d Disney movie. Even compare it to anyother 3d movie in any other non disney theme park, and it will be difficult to beat. (HISTA is certainly better than the 3d Leslie Neilson Pirate movie that Sea World had, and HISTA is better that Shrek 3d, Term 2 3d might come close, but lacks the family fun twist Hista has.)

In a way, I consider it a more modern version of Adventure thru Innerspace, although you don't shrink down quite that small. And as far as theme wise to TL, I don't see the difficulty in it fitting in to the Tomorrowland theme. It certainly fits better than the Subs, the Train Stop, Autopia, and a heck of a lot better than Innoventions.

So, until they fix the Subs, Monorail, Peoplemover, update Star Tours, something as high as the old Rocket Jets and the Skyway, and replace the most ridiculously lousy attraction in all of TL history, Innoventions, let's hold off on replacing the ONLY attraction in Tomorrowland that gives you a chance to sit down for more than 10 minutes, have a few laughs. Hista is quite a fun attraction in the meantime.

The other improvements are in much more dire need updating, so lets get the crappier stuff fixed first. Lest ye all forget the infamous "Reimagineering a New Attraction" sign that hung on the Carousel of Progress / America Sings for over a decade, (and should still be there) and the Sub Attraction which may be close to 10 years of vacancy, as well.

I agree with this, and this is why I think HISTA needs to stay. I've done most of the 3-D shows, Bugs, Muppets, etc. and I think HISTA outdoes them all. The part that still gets me is when Salinsky is on his little hovercrafty thingy and smashes through the neon sign. Dang, that still has me wincing backwards! It's great.

Plus, I'm a big Python fan, so I think it's great that they got Eric Idle in the show.

It's the fundemental problem with movie tie-ins to rides. Once the movie is stale, the ride has very little appeal. Original concepts have a better chance at longevity. Of course, if the ride has merit on its own, like Indy, it will probably never grow stale. HISTA just wasn't that good of a ride in the first place.
