i totally agree with this! when i saw the tarp covering that sign, my heart skipped a beat when i thought they might be fixing the "curtain" entrance signs, too. alas, they were still there in all their fugliness.

The Tokyo Disney sign looks great, but that picture does not clearly show the context in which it is used... meaning.. I'm sure the Tokyo Disney Resort sign fits the theme/look/atmosphere of the surrounding area. A nice waterfall with the forest-like theme would be miserably out of place in the hotel-lined sky and modern cityscape that is Harbor Blvd.

With that said, I don't particularly like the current sign, but it fits well enough. It matches the design style of the park signs that you find at the tram area and the Downtown Disney marquees. The only think that needs to be fixed is the logo. They need to ditch the 2001 logo and use the current "original" logo.
    Great Post, Master Gracey.

    But...

who says it has to be all-out lush and tropical? It just has to be a bit of a modern lookin waterfall with some cool looking rocks and a few assorted palms. You can't go wrong with palms!

I am sure if they were going to do a big refurb of the entrance area then they would do some work on the scenery as well.

I hope. Iwas just telling Master Gracey it doesn't have to be as lush as Tokyo's, though actually I do hope they do that- on a smaller range though- at the DLR.

A sign like Tokyo's is too lush for the urban Harbour Blvd. Also, a big one like from yesteryear is pointless. Everything is over on the other side of the park now.

And I must say that those flags do look rather tacky.

That's what I was trying to say - Tokyo's way too lush when set against the urban Harbor Blvd. Even with some added palms and shrubbery, I can't imagine a waterfall that wouldn't seem out of place and just downright odd alongside Harbor, so close to the street.

It was a horrible reason to keep Harbour Blvd. Besides though, their's one in Frontierland and Paradise Pier.

OMG. It was a freakin' joke MG. It was to go with the "then get rid of the damn street!" reply.

If they do not decide to totally redo the sign, what color would you repaint it besides that ugly orange?
