    May 1st Boycott

Okay, so a LOT of people here in Tijuana, Mexico normally go to Disneyland on May 1st every year, since we don't go to school or work, etc. So this year with all the Boycotting, I was just wondering if it affected the park in a way? Was it unusually uncrowded that day? Or was it just as any other monday? Thanks

    And Happy Cinco de Mayo!!!!!!!!!

Monday was rather busy at Disneyland for a weekday, since it's still sort of the tail end of Spring Break. The "boycott" in Orange County had no apparent effect on Disneyland or anything else, although I heard some small Hispanic businesses in Santa Ana closed for the day.

Disneyland was not that busy. I was there on Monday, were around 10 minutes, of Course Splash and Space had about 30 min waits mid day. I took photos of the 10 min wait sign in the afternoon for Space. Nice weather too. I only saw a few T-shirts with Cinco De Mayo printed on them.

Well let me add that also the CM's blocked off the normal queue, and had everyone go thru the Fastpass line and walked on, of course when we were near the loading area, it was backed up a bit, but it went fast.

The boycott had no effect on anything except truck driving and making the freeways clear.

I was there. There was barley ANY people there. I went to space mountain, and when we walked in there was litterally NO LINE. litterally. We walked all the way around the mountain to find a cast member woman waiting, bored. And inside, there wasn't a line split right before you get on.

Do you mean like in general or just in relation to Disneyland?

No lines to get in at 9:30 am....walked right up to the turnstile in DL and then then to DCA later in the day. HM had no line, Screamin had no line....not exactly what I would call busy.

Now LAST Monday, 4/24....THAT was busy!

Oh man! O.K. can someone create another boycott day please so I can have a day at Disneyland with less people and freeways without traffic! How could I have missed this opportunity?

Too bad communist military parade day or socialist worker day only comes on May 1st. May Day...what an appropriate choice for this "illegal alien" boycott. And don't give me this Orwellian "immigrant" day garbage. Stand in line like my grandparents did and obey the laws of the country you claim to love and celebrate labor day like the rest of us. Ugh!

The park was just like a normal Monday.

The hotels were afraid that a lot of people were going to call in, so all the managment were called in to take their place, but there were no more call-ins on that day then any other normal Monday.

Yes, it was every Southern Californian's dream come true freeways that were truly free of traffic. I should have zipped up the cost for DL but I realized I can't miss school .

    1) Why are you referring to him as that? His post seemed well stated and quite a few folks in this forum would agree with him 100%.

    2) Did I miss something, or was that a personal attack?
