    Ride Updates

So our beloved Disneyland is finally getting all that well deserved attention and personally I think it's the best thing for the park. Today we have an aging theme park with limited space that is seeing unprecedented crowds. There just isn't the space, not to mention how thin on ideas WDI is of late, for completely new attractions. Although the do manage to find a new nook every few years to cram a new rides into. But with such limited options, I think these updates are just what miss 50, going on 51 needs. Even though some of the effects may out date the rest of the attraction, they bring a freshness to rides we, especially APers, have seen countless times. I hope we continue to see this trend, because it renews the parks youth without removing or replacing older attractions, IE Bear Jamboree, and the Treehouse. I would love to see an updated story for Matterhorn, complete with new yeti. Maybe a complete over haul of the Story Book Boats, with new scenes and miniatures. New AA's for the train scenes, especially the Native Americans. TSI could always use a little TLC. I guess I just really like the idea of keeping older attractions while giving them new life, but then again we haven't seen the new pirates and there has been mixed feelings on the HM update. What do the rest of you think?

I think that continually changing, upgrading, and generally tinkering with the park is more in the spirit of what Walt Disney meant when he said that the park would never be completed, as well as good for business.

Out with the old, in with the new!

ya, I agree... It would be nice. But, expensive... and, as much as I would like to see Matthorn updated... I think I would be more sad to have it closed down. Maybe, they can do one side at a time....

Disneyland has so much potential for updates and enhancements. The Grand Canyon/Dinosaur diorama is where they should start. They need to remodel the entire thing, especially the animatronics. Put in some really scary t-rex like the one from Jurassic Park.

Tom Sawyer Island needs a major remodeling job. Open up the entire island, since they probably won't bring back the burning cabin. Fix up the fort, make some larger caves so that us big kids can run around without fear of smacking our heads on the low ceilings. Perhaps even a place to eat.

The Rivers of America is in need of some TLC also. The native americans in the village look terrible. Update the animatronics again and make it look good, not neglected.

they could make a land completely indoors, perhaps behind critter country or frontierland.. it would cost a fortune of course but that would be one way of expanding the park. i'd love a spook land for example with rides like nightmare before christmas and a sleepy hollow ride. they could even have the entrance to HM in there if they just moved the facade building, and that way they could expand NOS with more interactive new orleans streets and buildings.
anyway, there are still plenty of potential ways they can expand the park.

Spook land. Really. Are you kidding me, or do you not see the potential protests here?

I actually think the idea of a land covered with a large dome is great. They could get creative and make the ceiling of the dome a changing nightsky... which of course would be expensive but I think it would be coolio.

The idea of "spook land" isn't a bad a idea....... If it was themed to something more Disney like ... well "Nightmare Before Christmas" even though technically it isn't.

But what I would love is a land from Kingdom Hearts. If they had "Traverse Town" or better... "HOLLOW BASTION" or... "Twilight Town" there that would be so cool mwahaha =P! I love those forever-night lit towns.

They already close down one side during and before the fireworks and parades. The line is never too bad. It makes more sense to do one side at a time than both at the same time, except in areas where the tracks run parallel.

ummm, just as an FYI "spook" is a REALLY derogatory slang word for African-American.

NOT hating, just sayin' - because I really think you didn't know.

    Peace~

oh, what I meant was if they only re-did one side at a time, then once the new side opens, the lines would be unbelievably long cause evryone would want to ride the new side.

Well, I just can't help but be a little sad if the whole thing was closed for like a year. That would stink
