    Anyone seen ASIMO?

I went into Innoventions yesterday to see if there was anything new and I went in to see the ASIMO robot exhibit. At first I was totally fascinated by this modern marvel but then the little guy started to give me the creeps. Has anyone else seen this exhibit and felt the same way?

Yeah, robots are always polite, and you don't have to pay them, the don't take breaks, no benifits, if one wears out just throw it away.

    Re: Anyone seen ASIMO?

ASIMO was a bit creepy, I dont like that it has no defined eye features.

I thought that sony one was fake. I saw it in a mucis video for Beck's "Hell Yes" and the were moving quite well, dancing and such.

There was some other bot too that was made to resemble a woman. She would respond to people around her and she even mimiced breathing. It looked so much like a lady in a purple suit that the people in the expo kept forgetting that she was a robot. Scary...
My campus elevator smells like burned hair and won't drop faster than the pull of gravity, no matter how much I scream.

    Re: Anyone seen ASIMO?

These robots are about half the size of asimo. If you watch the video it shows how short they really are compared to a person. I can imagine it makes balancing a lot easier due to the lighter weight.

yea, i figured that, wich makes it the more cooler. ASIMO only went 1mph and basically did nothing! But these can keep you entertained, i wouldnt mind have a dance off with one of these QRIOs!
