Space Mountain broke down twice while I was on it today. The first time, I was in the handicap rocket, waiting to be transfered onto the main track. The second time, I was in the middle of the ride, but the rocket didn't stop until we entered the re-entry tunnel. The light effect stayed on for about 10-15 seconds, then the work lights came on. I almost didn't take any photos.
Take a gander at the photos here. Its amazing how such a cheap effect can really be cool.

Its funny how the tunnel feels completely round when its dark and the ride is working, but it really has an odd shape.
To get us started, two cast members had to come out and push-start the rockets.

I cant belive you saw space with lights on! You have no idea how long I have waited to see those lighs on, and I never had. Just one of these days I want to be in mid ride when all the lights turn on and get to ride with them on. This is my favorite ride, so please you guys, pray that I see it on my next trip.[smilie=1,4,18]

How cool would it be to be a CM to have to walk the track and push cars? Maybe not that cool but I think it'd be interesting.
and the stars are still a light on a disco ball, why spend the money when you don't have to? If you have the video of Robb Alvey on Hong Kong's version (found here free registration needed to get the video), you get pretty much the whole ride with the lights on and you can see the tunnel at the end too, it's pretty cool how little stuff is actually needed to mess with your mind.

wow, thats what it looks like!? dont know what i was expecting, but that wasnt it. ive also never had the "priveledge" of space mtn breaking down. mybe one day...
