I remember reading in one of the accidents that when those 2 kids stayed on Tom Sawyer's Island and they tried 2 swim back...the one kid made it and one drowned. And they said that if the kids would have just stood up he prolly would have lived cuz it's like 6 feet in the middle... so yeah.

Re: How deep is Rivers of America...Jungle cruise?

When I need a good washin, I hop into the rivers of america near the back side beach entrance on tom sawyers island. The water usually comes up to a little past my knees. So I would say about 2-3 feet tops. I usually wade out a little ways when no boats are coming, but it doesn't seem to change much in depth.
I did, however, step on a pop top the other day and it really hurt. A note to all of you in my situation, wear Voit™ Aqua Socks to avoid such catastrophies.

Re: How deep is Rivers of America...Jungle cruise?

I used to work on Jungle...
The deepest part of the ride was the Hippo pool (about 12 feet deep). The shallowest part of the ride was at the skull canoe - you know, "Ah here on our right we have some local arts and crafts...Art's the one on top" - directly after the hippos (18 inches deep).
This was a horrible design, and lead to a high number of derails. As we all know, the Hippo Pool is the "Climax of the Ride," and the boats are supposed to speed out of there. A large wake quickly builds when the boat goes through the bottleneck exiting the pool. If the skipper slows down by the canoe, the wake catches up with the boat and lifts the guide off of the track.
    It happened to me once.
As far as the RoA, I worked on the Mark Twain also, but do not remember that info exactly. I think the depth is less than 12 feet at the deepest.

ROA has to be about 4 feet near the edge, about 3 to 6 years ago a canoe boy was giving a canoe a running push start and feel right into the water. The water reached to the center of his chest when he stood up.
