it's too bad they can't have a dragon like in Paris

or maybe just put in a stain glass window display?

I dunno I wouldn't mind if they closed off everything inside the castle and rebuilt the whole inside to be bigger or something (I don't walk through the castle much so I'm not sure how it's all connected with the stores and all)

Here is an old picture- it is not the best and I took it when I was a kid, so I apologize for the quality- I thought I had more, but this is the only one I could find.

I was very dissapointed that I couldn't show my two youngest sisters this, the last time I went to Disneyland they were too young to go. I really do wish it could open up again someday. :le sob:

Mabey they saw a way to close down a small attraction and loose some staff to keep costs down slightly...

I wish it was open for the 50th..... I enjoyed it during my last visit in 99....

That would be a great surprise if it would be reeopened for the 50th. I have been hoping for that, but I have been known for my optimism even when it is evident that all hope is lost.

What exactly is blocking the entrance and is the sign still there? I never really looked since it closed.

They simply closed the doors and took down the awnings and signage.

    Thanks merlinjones.

I miss how the Walkthrough was never crowded...and was peaceful and serene almost always. If it was crowded than the entire park was in gridlock.

ORWEN: Well, of COURSE the walk-thru was an attraction! To say otherwise is to be in denial, if you ask me. And, as far as the idea of just standing outside the castle, wondering what was inside, you could do that WITHOUT the walk-thru being closed down. If you don't want to walk through the castle you certainly don't have to. But for those who would like to have the charming attraction back, there's really not a valid reason to leave it closed.

ORDDU: As for Cinderella's Castle in Florida, it may not have been considered quite the same sort of icon as the original Sleeping Beauty Castle was. Plus, there's a lot of activity going on in the restaurant up there all the time--which might make management feel 'less threatened' by someone who would seek to blow it up, since so many people are always around to see what's going on.

ORWEN: It would be easy enough to install security cameras inside the castle, if they really wanted to. Or they could have various cast member hosts and hostesses--dressed in medieval garb--stationed here and there to watch what guests are doing. A few years ago the castle was closed down when some teenagers stole some of the dolls from the final dancing scene. That should have been the time they went and installed the cameras. I believe this happened in 1992.

What staff? I don't think I ever saw a staff member manning the walk-through.
