Shed central is where you will find the petting zoo. Just follow your nose to the scent of goats.

But it does not list a petting zoo as an attraction. Where is it?

The Big Thunder Ranch area hosts a petting zoo, usually open until about 4 PM.

It is located along the pathway that goes behind Big Thunder Mountain to Fantasyland.

Its a completely different subject. Beatle_Johnny did the right thing in putting his question in a new thread.

WHY is there a petting zoo? My dear boy, I ask you why NOT?

Okay, all kidding aside... there was a (much bigger) petting zoo at Big Thunder Ranch back when I was a kid. I believe that's where they kept Mickey Moo for the duration of his days as well as many other creatures. They canned the zoo, and eventually built the Festival Of Fools arena for the Hunchback show. With "Home On The Range", they brought the zoo back as a synergistic movie tie-in.

You should see the beautiful zoo area in DLP though... they have peacocks. Wish we had peacocks.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...

The old Big Thunder Ranch used to have a cow with mickey mouse spots on it. In fact I think that they bought all sorts of animals that just happened to have hidden mickeys on them. The newest incarnation of the petting zoo underwhelms, but is a cute addition to the otherwise dead Big Thunder Trail area.
