The PC police did hit the burning cabin, but only to change the wording to state that the careless settlers living in the cabin were to blame. There was a (slightly) audio-animatronic bald eagle perched in the nest and crying out with concern over the fire reaching her nest.
I think I noticed the flames were out back in our September 2000 trip.
They need to bring this back for the Pirates of the Caribbean debt if they claim that pirates set it ablaze for WDW. I guess we should just burn all our history books if people are offended by the smallest things.
Note in the old postcard photo the prone settler in front of the cabin. I'm not sure, but at one time he may have had an arrow in him. I do think PC had a lot to do with it. I've also heard the story about the rusted gas pipe. I doubt the Disneyland cabin will ever flame up again, but after hearing about the removal of some of the PC from POTC, maybe I'll be proven wrong.
"Yesterday, a man walked up to me and said, 'Isn't it a shame that Walt Disney couldn't be here to see this?' and I said, "He did see this, that's why it's here."

A rusted gas pipe could be why, but what are the using for the different Fire effects on Fantasmic!? Why not run a line from there over, that way you don't have to drain the river. Of wait you might have to do something with that old fort that is in the way.
It means that it's not all that cool to rag on entire cultural groups because certain members of it might be offended by something like this. I am 1/4 Shoshone, and I am not all that offended by it. Certainly I'm bothered more by the Indians in Peter Pan and PPF. Native Americans are not saints, for whoever made the history book comment. No cultural group can claim to be. But complaining about the "PC Police" is a symptom of backlash that can smack of "Can't I be just a little racist?" If someone's offended (and please understand that I'm not), let it be, say what you will, whatever. But please don't trivialize the quest for equality and dignity by an entire culture because a few of them may find something offensive.
