And there you have it... I misspoke. Mexico couldn't have its own land as a territory of itself. I should have said "Spain's Territory in Mexico" or something.

LOL!!!! Sorry if I overstepped my bounds there... My degree is in history and I like talking about it (History, not the degree).

The Matterhorn deaths don't mention the one about the CM who was on the track when a bobsled roared around the bend.

Yeah, I don't think it is true, RoA is not very deep and unless it was a yound kid in the costume, when he fell in he could have just walked back out. Well, it sounds like a job for the Mythbusters.

I don't think this one is true. I think there are definitely high schools that are banned, but none for that reason.

Well, if you had a costume with a very heavy head, that was rapidly filling up with water, it might be difficult to get out of even shallow water. It only takes inches to drown, as they say.

My wife gave me further information on this "myth" -- she said that her friend went to the high school, and that it was Artesia High School. Might help confirm or deny the myth if anyone knows if Artesia High School is banned or not!

Just becasue there is a AHS that is banned it still means nothing. You gotta have the record as to why they were banned.

True, but as part of deconstructing an urban legend, if you can establish that Artesia High was in fact never banned, then it's more likely that this entire event never happened at all as reported.

In other words, if one part is not true, it increases the odds of this being entirely fiction.
