Oh God yes! I could not agree with you more. The fumes from Autopia are really bad. They should fix that problem first when they decide to refurb Autopia.

I was just thinking, that could be a problem. If each car were a different character, people would be fighting for a certain car all the time. That would cause problems with the line...

A relatively simple and inexpensive futuristic upgrade would be to change the cars to use ethanol, or (with more expense) methanol. Moving to electric would be good too, but then you'd have the issue of quickly recharging batteries to keep most of the fleet on the road and in motion at any given point in time.

A fuel change could be phased in over time, provided each car was clearly marked with what fuel it required.

TL can be so cool, but instead we update one attraction(Space) and let the rest of the land tumble into senselessness.
You've brought this idea up before, and while I like it, it's almost impossible to imagine too much theming being viable in the ride itself. Drivers would stop constantly to look at the scenery. It's one reason this attraction is so tough to reconceptualize.

I think this may be an interesting idea. The ride does need to be updated again. It's showing a lot of wear.

The movie is getting great buzz and Tomorrowland is already home to two Pixar attractions (Buzz & Nemo).

    What do you think?
I can pretty much bet you a million bucks that it will be changed to a "CARS" theme.. they would be rather stupid not to.. Cars is already HUGE and it hasn't even opened!!!

You know, I agree with this...

You might want to change Innoventions into an exhibit on how we plan on producing energy for years to come... Cellulose Ethanol would be an interesting exhibit... Imagine utilizing post consumer green waste to power your vehicle and become carbon neutral...

Left overs and other paper based goods at Redd Rockets could be converted to bio deasel that fuels the Subs...

That will blow the minds of every visitor that comes in, the idea that their trash could be turned into gas... That fuels the imagination of science minded youngsters...

It would be nice to have a tomorrowland that actually introduces people to techonlogy that will change their lives, as opposed to getting people to buy Disney branded gaggets...

Unless Chevron Pulled there sponsorship this isn't going to happen. I hope it doesn't happen.

Wasn't there a rumour in the last year that "Cars" would be turned into a "Test Track-like" attraction over in DCA somewhere?

Please NO NO NO NO NO! Can the imagineeres at Disney think up anything not based on a movie? Plus we already have BLAB and now Nemo Subs no more Pixar for Tomorrowland or any other Land for that matter. Put in new cars based on the movie but please do not put in a theme of Cars, no Pixar logos.

I don't see why cars would hurt the autopia anyway. I mean its not like any stories would change. Heck Autopia has no story. All they would do is put the car characters on the track as a replacement to the ones on there today. Out with the old & in with the new.

Yes, but they will out in Pixar logos and advertise it as "Disneyland Autopia inspired by Pixar's Cars". Please no more!

Change the ride to a similar body type as the first style of autopia cars and have them run in different alternative gas types and label the different cars. That is TOMORROW not some cartoonish cars ride. I hate how bulky and ugly these cars are compared to the old ones that Walt Disney used to ride in. They could also invent a way to get rid of the track and have the cars automatically force you to slow down if they are approaching another car.
