I've heard (well, read) this argument before. It goes something like this: Bigot spouts something racist, homophobic, or misogynistic. Offended party says, "Hey, shut up!," or some such. Bigot claims to be a victim of intolerance.

    Did I get it right?

Everyone else: try to make peace, be reasonible...and eventually join the conservatives in snarky responses or ignoring.

(Hint: this would qualify as a snarky response, although I may be outing myself)

I think your definition of the word "illiterate" is different than the actual definition, which is the one we should assume the writer of the, um, Thoughts was using.

I'm 43, and while more Spanish is being used in safety spiels at Disneyland in the last few years, I can also vouch for the fact that most government documents I've ever dealt with have been available in Spanish.

Of course, I'm a native Californian liberal.

It's just difficult to watch people make such close minded claims. (the article and especially Fox News commentary.) They're entitled to their opinion, however, I don't have to like it... but then again... thats just MY opinion.

I like how he manages to act "offended" at the tribesmen in Jungle Cruise and in the same breath criticizes the park for having Spanish language safety spiels.

    Arch-conservatives are so funny sometimes.

Also, The National Review is garbage.

Ok, so a movie depicting minority struggles in California is some how a campaign ad for the democrats? If I was a republican (which I am not) I think that I would be insulted by that comment.

I agree that the Spanish announcements are obtrusive, but to what exactly do some people object in "Golden Dreams"?

Calling this guy a "conservative" is derogatory to real conservatives (raises hand). The correct term for this guy is "idiot".
