They can't change the color scheme - it's Sleeping Beauty's Castle.

Blue and pink are the main colors in the film.
Of course they can. The orignial colors were very different from the colors now.

Also, I'm assumming that you get blue and pink from the changing colors of Aurora's dress, but they are hardly the main colors of the movie.

The blue and pink are the main colors of the movie. They are used throughout the last half of the film on Aurora.

And the castle has always been the same colors - blue and pink.

Just because they are either faded or very vibrant doesn't change the color scheme at all.

Ummmm, not true. The castle was originally blue and grey only. It was a much more realistic castle look rather than one from a fairytale. It has only been in the more recent years that the castle was painted pink to match the way it appeared on the Disneyland television show.

It was mentioned earlier in the thread if you want to take a look.

Well I'm too lazy lol to look it up.

Let's just say this: for the most part the castle has been pink and blue.

From this picture, what would you like to see stay and what would you like to see go?

^ I for one would like to see the "50" logo stay, but have it change to the current anniversary that the park would be celebrating - so like "51" then "52".

    That would be neat!

The only thing I would keep are the chain-link things on the turrets. Other than that, I kind of wish they would paint it in the Hong Kong Disneyland color scheme. Or, something like it's old paint job, but brighter. Two different shades of pink would be nice like it used to have. I wouldn't mind losing all of the gold paint though, as well as the crowns.

Get rid of the awful pink and that blue - they clash!

I'd like to see all the bunting removed, the crowns, and the 50. Leave the gold trim on the upper part of the castle (that is, the gold paint on structural features, not added "trim").

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...

They used too much gold on the 50th anniversary castle...it needs to be classier looking

Re: Sleeping Beauty's Castle: Then and Now

I think it needs to be a little mix of both...

I kinda like the pillars w/o the gold, but some parts on the old castle looked soooo bad!

I think since the blue and pink are a new coat it wont be too bad w/o gold.

Personally I think the new look, all decked out is great. The castle is the centerpiece of the park. It should be flashy and rich.
