Crowds AFTER Labor day?

Thinking of NOT going Thanksgiving week, but instead taking my son on a week after labor day (or two weeks whatever works out best) surprise trip to Disney. What are the crowds like after school starts? Will we "have the park to ourselves?"

Am I CA Dreaming here.....

Re: Crowds AFTER Labor day?

It will be very good.
This estimate loses its value if too many people read it, though.

Re: Crowds AFTER Labor day?

Let me correct you here, but you are dreaming DCA style. Disneyland will have increased crowds until Labor Day. Then should drop off considerably probably a week after. it happened last year. DCA is never a problem unless the 2fer is out, which I don't believe starts until well after Labor Day. But have fun!

Will I still have a job in the off-season?

Re: Crowds AFTER Labor day?

Thanks for the info. The dates I am thinking of are Sept 28th(Thursday) and Sept 29th. He has some random day off the 29th. Is the park more busy over the Jewish holidays by any chance? I'm excited. No not DCA dreaming, just dreaming in general

thanks
janette

I don't think so. There aren't too many goyim who get the Jewish Holy Days off, via school closings. Probably not Rosh Hashanah. And it's not something the average Jew would do on these Holy Days, though I cannot comment on the above-average or below-average Jews.
My kids apparently get the day off for Yom Kippur (Oct 2). Hmm....

Re: Crowds AFTER Labor day?

Just remember to check the ride refurbishement schedule....I went in Sept last year and then realized (like a dummy, in my life BMC [before Micechat]) that Haunted Mansion was closed to be decorated for HMH....so we went back in February and guess what...HM was closed to take down HMH ..boy did I feel like an idiot

So if ride closures are not that important, go for it!

One last thought from this out-of-towner, "low" season visitor: the weekends @DL are NEVER empty! Darn you, locals
