    Re: Disneyland Hideaways

    1)Mark Twain, deck #2....almost always deserted in the morning.

    2) ^ Ditto on Tom Sawyer. Good call.

    3) 50 year display in the Opera House.

    4) Anywhere in DCA (hee, hee...)

    Animation Building lobby. The loop they have is wonderful, the couches are AMAZING, it's usually pretty empty, and it's air conditioned. Plus, one time I walked in there with the sibs and discovered Sorcerer's Apprentice Mickey, Snow White, Hercules, Aladdin, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and maybe a dozen guests. That cemented that location in my mind as the best place at the resort.

    I have a bench in NOS between the HM fastpass distro and the train station. It is my writing bench. I will grab a snack and ensconce myself there and write for hours. The only downside is that I get distracted whenever the trains come in by looking for conductors I know.

    Also good are Whitewater Snacks and the GCH lobby. If Whitewater would get some plush chairs, I'd never leave.

    The Mark Twain Riverboat on the second deck. between the two rear staricases on the box.(stern) Good place to keep in the shade and relax and kick up your feet. Take in the sights and sounds around the park. Maybe even take a Mint Julep along.

    Yeah ... DCA and that's not a joke either.

    Animation Lobby (except near the Turtle Talk area)

    The walk area behind Grizzly Peak near the GCH...it's nice. Add a few more trees and once they mature it'll be really nice.

    Golden Dreams is almost always empty, very cool and a comfy seat. The movie itself can be slept through.

    The 50 years show at the Opera House (see above)

    The French Bread and/or Tortilla tour

    Main Street Cinema

    There is a shady area with benches along the path that runs from the little hat store in Frontierland to the stage area where the community groups perform. Not many people use this path and the last time we took it, there was a man sleeping on one of the benches.

    Ok, here's my secret place. Inside City Hall there is a bench where you can relax and eavesdrop on people complaining. It's relaxation and comedy at it's finest!

    Patio at the Gallery, I love how there never seems to be anyone there.
    Also, the balcony.

    My husband and I can spend hours sitting at Coke Corner just people watching.

    Back of Hungry Bear

    Back of Tiki Room

    And my old favorite on a hot day, Great moments with Mr. Lincoln, for (I'm ashamed to say), a quick nap!

    I dont remember the name of the building, its on main street as your walking towards the castle. It plays old black and white mickey mouse cartoons. Its always pretty empty. If you are brave you can sneak up past the rail and lay down for a little while.

    That's the Main Street Cinemas.

    My favorites are:

    * Frontierland - Fantasyland walkway
    * NOS courtyard
    * Hungry Bear
    * TSI
    * Mark Twain
    * DLRR
    * Area in front of iasw (where Motorboats used to be)
    * Storybook Land
    * Tiki Room
    * Great Moments/50th Steve Martin
    * Snow White's Grotto
    * Carnation Plaza(?) (when there's no one playing)
    * Innoventions (first floor, near the stairs)
    * Mickey Mouse House, the barn part, where they show the video loop

    In DCA,

    * Animation Building Lobby (just awesome)
    * Tortilla and Boudin Bread tours
    * Vinyard area
    * Golden Dreams
    * Area in front of bathrooms in HBL
    * "Back" walkway for Grizzly Peak

    Not sure if Whitewater Cafe counts as it's technically outside the parks.

    =======
    Edit: Some more...

    * Vacant porch on Main Street (thanks, a_hyperbole!)
    * Bench in front of the Baby Center
    * Refreshment Corner (listening to the piano)

    Oh man, that's great! I'm going to have to do this sometime.

    I'll second most people's suggestions, but one I haven't seen mentioned is the vacant porch on Main Street where the lingerie store used to be. Its hard find it empty, but if you can, its an afternoon of shaded, relaxing, people-watching fun!!!!

    OMG...that place rocks wolfy. Last time I was there, I was exhausted and sitting there against the wall just watching all the videos and hearing the music made me sooooo relaxed.
