Re: WARNING --- 2007, SPRING, No outside food, strollers or WATER brought into the park!

with the stroller thing, that's just crazy talk. i mean, seriously. and how you guys call them "stroller assault vehicle"

not to be but one of my joys at dlr is to sit outside and play a game my boyfriend and i call "ghetto" stroller. meaning, we count to see how many people actually have the "cloth" strollers that used to be so popular but are now being replaced by these s.a.v.'s. there goes some of my fun.

ah well. and so it goes i suppose....

Its only $2 in WDW for the huge sportsbottle $1.75 (I think) for the 12-16oz one.

OMG!!! Didn't consider that. Scratch the goat idea then, because I can only imagine the liability of a gazillion crashed strollers from people attempting the Front Gate Goat Trick.

Yes and like I said before, I'll be the one holding up the line trying to explain to the security CM's and turnstile CM's that I need my stroller because of this. Eventually every other parent will use this as an excuse. It won't fly. My kids have special needs but we don't advertise it. No one can look at them and tell they have a disability. Besides I would hate to have to go to DL (a place we go for FUN) and have to tell people, "I need this because my sons are both severely autistic." How depressing to have to keep telling people that.

I hope strollers stay, plain and simple. So EVERY parent can bring their children and have a good time.

And my soon-to-be husband and I going to Disneyland with my mother and father make us "two couples with blood and legal relations". But, if my SO didn't go, and it was just my parents and me, I suppose we'd be "one couple and their immediate adult descendant".

That just makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.

Oh and my kids aren't lazy. They play in many sports and run around a lot. But even adults get tired after walking around a theme park all day -- why should kids be any different?

And I like having all my stuff with me! Who wants to shuffle back and forth to a $7 locker if they don't have to? If it gets cold, I just reach under the stroller and grab sweaters for me and the kids!

In the US????? We're nto a third world country, our drinking water is perfectly safe.

I don't mean the whole country, but Los Angeles and Hawaii mainly. The water may be safe for you but not for me. You could not pay me to drink LA water. There are is soooooooooo much chlorine in the water because it is so polluted that it takes an obsene amount of chlorine to clean it and then NOBODY should be drinking it. UGH
Just an FYI, but Anaheim tap water is NOT the same as Los Angeles water. Anaheim's water is from an underground well that (I believe) is used exclusively for Anaheim.

Also, as a diabetic myself, I would always want a bottle of water nearby if I have to have a "power bar" type snack. They aren't the best tasting things, and they are so dry, you need the water to help you wash it down. I wouldn't even attempt to eat one without something to drink.

As for baseball stadiums, I'd like to vouch for Anaheim's own stadium. You can bring in just about anything (no coolers though). Fast food and drinks can be brought in, but nothing in bottles, except bottled water up to one liter. We bring in dinner and drinks (in cups) every time we go (we're season ticket holders), and tons of snacks. Security even jokes about how many snacks we bring in (a large selection - but I only fill the backpack once a week). One thing they don't allow is a beverage in a water bottle (like homemade lemonade). But just bring in your water bottle and a couple packs of Crystal Lite singles and you're good to go.

I just went to the Oakland A's stadium on Sunday and same thing, no problem bringing in a bag full of snacks.

this is not true. i have a child, but i do not believe in coddeling children. The last time she was in a stroller at the park she was 3 and we rented it there...from that point on she walked. We did not bring all kinds of things to entertain her in line. She learned how to deal with boredom or she entertained herself without annoying others. IMO...making everything sooo easy for children (dvd players in cars, toys in line, strolers when they can barely fit in them) is so the parent will not have to deal with the children.....of course I freely admit I'm a fairly strict parent.
