I saw the 5:30 performance of Snow White on Friday, June 9th and to my delight, Disney decided to take out 2 lines from the show that had been originally there when the show first premired in February 2005.
No longer does SW say, *what a dump* when she first opens the cottege door and sees the mess inside. And she doesn't say, *time out* after scolding the blue bird, but instead, she just says, *blue bird* and extends her arm to get away from the old hag woman.
I, for one, am really happy that Disney realized this type of talk would never come from Snow White and that Walt Disney himself would never approve of it if he were still alive today.
So kudos to Disney for making SW more true to her character. Even tho it's only 2 lines that have been dropped, it makes for a better show.
And speaking of the show in more detail, they also changed the opening scene. I'm not sure why they did this, but they did. And the animal costumes are slightly different too, and I like 'em better!
I'm happy the show is back, because it makes me realize that after Labor Day it'll be gone for good. And with any good luck, we'll finally have a Christmas stage show this holiday season, and then who knows what new summer stage show for next year! Yaaaaaaaaaa!!
