    Horseless Carriage Parade

This morning I got caught by surprise walking down Main Street. The Horseless Carriage Parade was going by and it was really interesting to see some of these really old cars actually still running strong. Anyone know how often they do this? I think it was around 11:30 am this morning, but it's the first time I've seen it.

Here's a few pics I took for your viewing pleasure ^_^

And now the best part; the last car in the parade. Walt Disney's car! :-D

    Re: Horseless Carriage Parade

I would loved to have seen that! I've been a member of the Horseless Carriage Club of America for many years... as was my father before me. I always looked forward to getting "The Horseless Carriage Gazette" in the mail because it would include a cartoon called "Asinine Alley" drawn by Ward Kimball. Ward and many other of the original Disney "gang" had a love of antique cars the same as Uncle Walt loved trains.

Apparently, the Southern California Region of the HCCA does a Disneyland Parade annually. Here's a link to more photos from their 2005 event:

Perhaps there is a "CARS" reason for this.

Wow, I've never even heard of that. It's not on my ref guide, either, so I think that might have been a one-time event. Lucky for you to have seen it, though.

My husband would have flipped had he seen that. We probably only missed it by about 5 minutes.

I had no idea they did that! Those pictures are great--I'll be showing them to my husband when he gets home. We didn't get to the park until about 1:00 yesterday and I wish so much we had been there earlier as he is so into old cars (well, cars in general) that would have been a huge treat.

    Re: Horseless Carriage Parade

Those are good pics, thanks for posting them. I rode in my fathers car on Sunday with my two brothers, we were in the blue 1911 EMF. It was a great honor to be able to ride down Main Street, and the Disneyland cast members were awesome people. Everything was organized to the T and were very gracious, even calling us cast members for the day. This is the fourth year the club has been doing this and will be back next year. Here are some pictures from last years parade. I still need to develop the ones from this year, but can post them if anyone is interested. Here are some images from last year, I'm the guy in the back seat.

    Make me cry.

Does anyone remember the Easter Day Parade?

Parade was made up of vintage cars, with driver and riders in vintage dress, a few CM's dressed vintage and the characters.

    How I miss that parade.
